Updating High-Profile Commits in Nebraska 2027 Rankings

Let's refresh the big board.   We've had a ton of commitment storylines across the Cornhusker State since our last wave of rankings updates. This is especially true for Nebraska's Class of 2027, which has featured several high-profile pledges among rising seniors. Now that we've just overhauled our 2027 list, it feels like a good time to catch up.   Prepare to hop around the map for this one. We have recognizable athletes branching out, while others are staying close to home. Whatever the case, this star-studded group is ready to carry the Nebraska banner at the collegiate level next year.    Omaha-Concordia has made a habit of hauling in local talent, and the Bulldogs are surely thrilled to land this uber-athletic pin hitter. We vividly remember Carmichael's entrance on the 16s circuit last year, as she produced eye-popping swings for her Nebraska Elite squad. The Norfolk senior added a few more highlight moments last fall and provided valuable emotional boosts during Nebraska Elite 17-1's AAU title run. We're eager to see Carmichael back on the court soon.     We go from one high-flying outside hitter to another. Eilenstine's dominance in this year's 17 Open circuit proved she's ready for the Division 1 spotlight at Cal State-Fullerton. She fit perfectly in the VCN gym when she first joined the Lincoln club, and Eilenstine flipped a switch as the calendar turned to 2026. The Elkhorn South senior can readily pounce on up-tempo sets to the outside, which will translate well to her tenure with the Titans. But first, the crucible of Class A competition awaits for one last dance.     The Redbirds are getting an athlete with a sky-high, D1-level ceiling. Marin has made an extraordinary mark in the Banzai VBC gym, most recently lighting up the scoreboard with the team's top 18s squad. This Millard North star brought all the physicality needed to play up a year. Her snappy, electric arm produced floor-denting kills in front of the setter. Marin also expanded the array of routes she can run as a featured 'M1' attacker. She now looks ahead to another campaign with Millard North, where she has hit above 0.300 in the past two seasons.     We were waiting for this one. Nebraska ONE 17 Synergy generated plenty of commitment buzz this spring, and Herian added to the trend with her pledge to Drake University. Her quickness and burst off the floor will fit right in with this perennial Missouri Valley frontrunner. Herian has launched Pierce High School into the state tournament for multiple seasons, changing the prep landscape since her freshman debut. That has given way to several breakthroughs on the club side, including 17 Synergy's deep run through the Open division. Drake has crossed state lines to land an athlete who has done it all.     A change of venue did not slow Quinn's recruiting momentum. Rather, this Waverly star seized command of the Nebraska ONE 17 Black backcourt and brought the team to new heights on the USAV circuit. Her steady platform guided 17 Black to a bid-earning triumph at NEQ and a championship run at the Windy City Qualifier. Another deep run followed at USAV Nationals. The moral of the story is that Quinn has seen plenty of elite volleyball throughout her career, and she'll see even more at Midland University.     Waverly has a head-spinning collection of talent in the Class of 2027. Kroemer joins Quinn on the list of pledges after her fruitful club season with VCNebraska 17 Blue. This talented setter pounced on the opportunity to guide 17 Blue's offense around the dial. Her skills in a 5-1 flourished, allowing Kroemer to assemble quite an "audition tape" for her next-level potential. Nebraska Wesleyan recognized that potential and will welcome Kroemer to the ever-competitive American Rivers arena.     We're doubling up on the future Warriors. Fittingly enough, we were planning to write about Langhorst in one of our most recent series on uncommitted 2027s. Then, she uprooted those plans by giving her pledge to Midland, giving Langhorst a permanent foothold in Fremont volleyball lore. The Archbishop Bergan standout enjoyed a massive uptick in production last fall, churning out over 500 kills as the Knights' go-to terminator. Her length, power, and athleticism have been just as effective on the pin, even as Langhorst likely looks ahead to a long-term career in the middle.     It's the Midland trifecta. 2026 has treated us to the Wiedel's meteoric rise alongside the rest of her Nebraska Juniors 17 Black teammates. Wiedel first swiped headlines through 17 Black's bid-earning triumph at the Lone Star Classic. But why stop there? This setter-DS hybrid dazzled us later in the summer as Nebraska Juniors earned a runner-up finish in GJNC's 17 Liberty division. The Thayer Central senior cemented her next-level commitment through competing with the biggest breakout team in the Great Plains Region.     The University of Missouri-St. Louis might be looking to establish a Nebraska pipeline after an extraordinary 26-5 season last fall. Roger can add to this upward trajectory with her well-rounded effort at either pin position. The Crete senior enjoyed some of her best moments this spring as VCNebraska 17 Black battled to a GJNC berth at Show Me. Roger can alter matches through her terminal swings, but don't discount her influence as a first-contact asset. This versatility is ready-made for the next level.
