Who is "Up Next" for us to watch

At our Up Next Showcase, we had a ton of talent come through, giving us the opportunity to get a first look at many athletes competing against their peers at the highest level. It was great to see so many players step on the court and showcase their abilities, competitiveness, and potential throughout the day. Here are some of the players who stood out and made an impression at this year's Up Next Showcase, and we can't wait to see how they develop over the next year!    Avery looked really good at our showcase and has all the makings in her to be a good player moving forward. She already has a great arm on her, and she gets a lot of whip behind the ball when she swings. She has a lot of range to her shots, and doesn't just rely on hitting cross. She can hit down the line, hard angle, and the off speed shot when needed. I also lied how loud she is with her communication and energy during game play. She seems to really love the game and was always cheering, communicating about sets, and being a great team player. She has more to her game besides her offense as she is fluid with her movement and gets her feet in a good position to pass in both serve receive and defense. Overall Avery has a lot to like about her game today, and we are excited to see where she goes over the next year with her game!     Alexandria does a lot on the court that helps her team and looked really impressive in all the drills I got to watch her in. As a setter, she has a great connection with any type of hitter she gets and seems to understand the correct type of ball they need to be effective. Her tempo to the pin is great for a young setter, and she consistently gets the ball to the pin in a hittable location. She also has great footwork to get her hands on the ball and does a good job getting her body underneath the set, allowing her to stay balanced and deliver a consistent ball. She shows good hands and touch, while also making quick decisions and keeping the offense moving. She also is a good defender and server, and really has the start to the full package as an elite setter. I would not be surprised to see her impress a bunch of people over the next year or so with her game. She has all the tools to be elite and is up next to be on our radar to watch!     Kylie is someone who is on our watch list to see how she develops over the next year. She has a good consistent swing and always connects with the ball in a way that gives her team a chance to score. Doesn't matter if she is in system or out of system, she is always getting good swings on the ball and giving a chance for her team to score. Her game isn't just for swing, as she also has a strong IQ and is able to take what the defense gives her in terms of being able to hit down the line, or tip the ball to openings when they arise. Kylie is also a great sever and has a good jump float that moves a lot and has a bit of pace to it. I was very excited to watch Kylie play as she has a lot of top end potential and is on our radar to watch over the next year to see how she does!     Emerson has a lot to like about her game, and is someone who as a pin hitter brings a lot to the table in terms of overall game play that is important to see as a scout and coach. First, she has a wide variety of shots and is able to score in a lot of different ways, from hard swings to off speed shots and tooling the block when needed. She also does well with her technique and footwork in passing and playing defense, as she gets great touches to keep plays alive and does a good job cleaning up tough balls for her team with her hustle and effort. Emerson shows good court awareness and does a nice job adjusting to what the defense is giving her rather than forcing the same shot every time.Her ability to contribute in multiple areas makes her a valuable six rotation pin who is going to be on our radar as a player to keep and eye on as she heads into club next season.     Mia has the full package when it comes to being a 6 rotational outside hitter for her age. She is someone who plays great defense, is athletic with her movement, and can pass great in serve receive. She was a standout in drills and game play and she was someone you would gravitate to watch as the day progressed. Her game is centered around her ball control, as she passes with ease and consistently connects with the ball in a great spot, allowing her team to stay in system. She also does a great job loading as a hitter, getting into position early and creating a strong, efficient approach that allows her to generate power and stay aggressive offensively. She does this for both her in system and out of system approaches and swings and his efficiently in both situations. She has all the tools to be a high level player, and is someone who is going to be fun to watch in the years to come!     A very athletic setter who is also a good hitter, she has a lot of the tools coaches and scouts look for in a future standout at the setter position. She does a great job working hard to get her hands to the ball and consistently makes plays outside of her comfort zone. Her athleticism allows her to move well around the court, while her defensive ability gives her another dimension that can make her valuable in a 5-1 system. On offense she pushes the ball well to her pins and does a nice job creating hittable opportunities for her attackers. She also takes good swings at the ball and can be a threat as a 5-1 setter or as a traditional right side in a 6-2. She is someone that can compete and play at a high level as a setter and a hitter and someone who is a name to watch in the years to come!     Brooklyn is a setter who has a lot of tools needed for a good setter, on top of being one of the taller setters we had at the showcase. She has the chance to be a legit 5-1 setter with being able to be a great blocker in the front row as well. One aspect about her game that is next level is just how easily she can push a ball to the pin for someone her age. She delivers a very hittable ball with good pace and location, allowing her pins to stay aggressive and attack in rhythm. She also shows good touch and control on her sets, especially when extending the ball to the outside. Her movement is also good for a defender as well, and she does a great job getting from setting into a great defense position to get a good touch on the ball. She has great form and is able to create settable balls for other players when she digs the ball. Overall Brooklyn is someone who is up next for us to see as the year goes on, she has a lot of potential and is going to be a name to know moving forward.     Camdyn was one of the younger players at the showcase, but that didn't stop her from being one of the best passers and liberos in the gym. My favorite aspect of her game is the effort and hustle she brings to every ball. She hit the floor countless times to make a play and consistently found a way to get a quality touch on the ball, which was really impressive to watch. She plays with great energy and competes for every point, while also showing strong instincts and anticipation in the back row. Her passing is steady and controlled, and she does a great job creating a playable ball for her setter. For a younger player, she showed a level of toughness, consistency, and defensive confidence that really stood out throughout the showcase and is someone we can't wait to see over the years.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   The 2026 Summer Showcases were an incredible way to wrap up the club season, and we couldn't be more excited about the talent we saw on display. Thank you to every athlete, coach, and family who helped make these events such a success. The future of Arizona volleyball is incredibly bright, and we're grateful to have had the opportunity to watch so many players compete.   This is just the beginning.
