Guilherme Torres | Prep Dig Scout
Auguste will appear in the 18 Open division, as one of the key players in her Houston Skyline 18 Royal team. A U19 world champion with the US national team last year, she’s one of the top middles in the country in her class and is capable of making a difference both offensively and defensively. To say Auguste is extremely athletic would probably be an understatement, but she has been excellent in developing her game around her physical tools. Auguste is an extremely productive offensive player, swinging with power and precision, and also dominates the net with her blocking, moving well and playing aggressively.

Grand Oaks’ first trip to the Division 6A State Tournament started with a dramatic five-set win over Prosper in the semifinals, in a match where the Grizzlies came back from a two-set deficit to advance. The incredible turnaround had many protagonists as Grand Oaks had four players getting double digits in kills and Auguste was the one who needed the least attempts to do it, scoring in 14 of her 23 swings while also making just two errors. The senior middle blocker also contributed defensively at the net with a match-high six blocks.

Another new face in the team, Auguste, who came from TAV Houston, has made Skyline 17 Royal considerably stronger in the middle. She’s also a track and field student-athlete and few players in the state (and perhaps even the country) are capable of matching her athleticism. The best thing about Auguste is that she never had an over reliance in her physical tools and continued to work hard in her game to improve. She’s a fantastic blocker, combining excellent mobility, length and timing at the net and has also grown to became an offensive force by adding the ability to hit different sets and impressive decision-making to her unique athleticism.
