Continue ReadingThe culminating event for the CEVA season is the Regional tournament. All teams participating in CEVA Power League compete for their final standing of the season. For this series, we will be spotlighting athletes from teams that finished in the top 20 for the 18U/16U division who were nominated by their club coach, or a club coach from another team.
Without further ado, here are the 2025 passers that had stellar performances.
Addison Azavedo Addison Azavedo 5'2" | DS/L Jesuit | 2025 OR , 5’3”, DS, Jesuit High School, Athena Volleyball Academy 15 -1 Gold

Azavedo is the primary libero for the Athena 15-1 Gold team. She has made an impressive comeback this club season after suffering from an ACL tear at the end of last club season. Missing out on high school season in the fall, Azavedo was more than ready to get back out there. She anchored the team’s offense with her consistent ball control. And her tough serve led to quite a few service aces. Her coach commended her overall skill and leadership in the back row as a major contributing factor to the team’s success at Regionals.
Emma Comer, 5’3”, DS, Oregon City High School, Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy 16-2 Blue

Comer has been the primary libero for the OJVA 16-2 Blue team. She plays all out all the time, sacrificing her body to keep the ball in play. Her coach praised her ability to bring out the best in her teammates. She pushed her team to bring bounce back after some tough losses, and they managed to pull off the win because of this.
Charlotte Cooper, 5’6”, DS, Jesuit High School, Athena Volleyball Academy 15-2 Black

Cooper took command of the back row at Regionals for the Athena 15-2 Black team. She provided a steady confidence on the back line. Her coach commented her ability to read and react really well on both serve receive and defense, consistently putting up settable balls to help keep the team in system. Cooper racked up 38 digs and had the highest serve receive rating.
Soë Jung Soë Jung 5'7" | DS/L Sunset | 2025 State OR , 5’3”, DS, Sunset High School, Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy 15-1 Gold

Jung is the primary libero for the OJVA 15-Gold team. She brings steady serve receive and lights-out defense to the back row. Her improvement over the past season has been significant, she has risen to the top of the 2025 class here in Oregon as a top libero. Her improvement was evident at Regionals, she commanded the back row. Jung plays with calm confidence, her teammates truly place a significant amount of trust in her abilities and know she is going to put up a settable ball consistently.
Charlotte Ponier Charlotte Ponier 5'6" | DS/L Sprague | 2025 State OR , 5’5”, DS, Sprague High School, North Pacific Juniors 15-1 National

Ponier is a starting defensive specialist for the NPJ 15-1 National team. Moving from Georgia to Oregon a year or so ago and has made an immediate impact for the team. Over Regionals she was deadly from the serving line, leading the team in service aces. Her serve receive was stellar, and she statistically was the top serve receive passer. Her coach commended her for solid back row play.
