This was a head-turning Sunday for VCNebraska 16 Elite. The team pushed past two pool opponents from older age groups and capped the morning with a dramatic triumph over Premier Nebraska 16 Gold. Lottman was instrumental in that success and demonstrated her willingness to play various roles. The Norris standout can don the libero jersey or be a backcourt substitute, all while constantly influencing 16 Elite’s strong ball control. Triple Crown NIT will offer a vital litmus test for Lottman and her Open-level team.

Lottman adds to the long list of elite defenders in the VCNebraska gym. She has a steady, reliable platform in serve receive and can dime passes from outside her midline. We’ve also seen Lottman’s intangible skills develop in 2024, and she furthered that growth in GJNC’s 15 Open division. Lottman is a vocal leader in the back row who can guide her fellow passers into the right spots and seams. Ball control remains a persistent strength that has kept 15 Elite in the Open hunt.

We’re used to seeing defensive stars suit up for VCNebraska . Lottman is the next in line from the Class of 2027, and her 15s season has been something to behold. She helped 15 Elite secure an early Open bid at MEQ. The fun didn’t stop there as Lottman’s lockdown defense was the key to another podium finish at the Show Me Qualifier. 15 Elite conquered these events through quick pace and precise offense, but none of that is possible without some help from the back row. Lottman takes care of those duties.

Triple Crown NIT was an eye-opener for us regarding VCNebraska 15 Elite’s defensive talent. That’s especially true for Lottman, who dazzled onlookers with her improbable digs throughout the event. This Norris prep athlete showed an innate ability to read opposing hitters and put herself in the right spot to make a play. Lottman was also unflappable in serve receive, allowing 15 Elite to run its up-tempo offense. More pressure tests await this group, but Lottman has already proven she can perform against the nation’s best.

We haven’t seen Lottman’s step into the Norris lineup yet, but her time in the prep spotlight is coming. For now, we’ll use the 2024 club season as our first opportunity to get a feel for Lottman’s command of the back row.
