Combinations of teams who typically wouldn’t play each other which made this extremely exciting. Athletes who are committed to the next level representing the Big Ten, Summit League, Missouri Valley Conference, and the NSIC (one of the top D2 conferences in the country) to name a few. Here are the top athletes who made the Prep Dig Madness in Miltown All Tournament Team.
The Player of the Tournament – Madison Burr Madison Burr 6'2" | RS Cannon Falls | 2024 State MN
Madison Burr Madison Burr 6’2″ | RS Cannon Falls | 2024 State MN is HER. She was the moment this weekend at the Prep Dig Madness in Miltown. The future South Dakota State Jackrabbit fittingly got the match winning block in set three as SMV 18-1 Black defeated Sky High in dramatic fashion. Burr plays with quite a motor out of the middle where she can attack from anywhere on the court. Her reach across the net on the block is very intimidating. What is most impressive is her movement where she can find her setter and is such a mismatch with her block. Her presence on the court was felt from the other side of the net where they had to know where she was every rotation. This team from Rochester, Minnesota was a fun one to watch where they have a roster loaded with athletes who have a a well rounded skill set.
The future Iowa setter stirs the drink for Sky High out of the North Suburbs of Chicago. She has been a standout on the club and high school courts where she was a key piece to Barrington High School who was a perennial power in the large class for Illinois, finishing in the final four the past three seasons. She is long, dynamic, and has a swag about her game that has continued to grow each time she steps on the court.
She scored points everywhere. Koepke was solid all the way around for SMV and knew how to score points where her team needed it the most. She will be heading to Concordia St. Paul who is consistently at the top of the D2 rankings in the entire country. They have built their program’s success on in-state talent like Koepke.
Another future Hawk who will be heading to the nest is Jaimie Marquardt Jaimie Marquardt 5’9″ | DS/L Libertyville | 2024 State IL . She is one of the top liberos out of the Illinois Class of 2024 where she was also a top setter for her high school team. She is so poised, confident, and dependable with that first contact. She also has a dirty serve that she can go on a run with. Sky High will head to Baltimore for USAV 18 Nationals and be in the National Division.

This was my first time seeing LaPlante play live and was so impressed. The six rotation outside hitter was effective in and out of system. She is extremely explosive with her approach where she just launches off the court. When it comes to her swing she can use the entire court with her swing.
Highlights
Ruth Ziegler Ruth Ziegler 6’3″ | MB Warren Township | 2024 State IL was dominant from the right side with her block and her swing. Her swing brings such pace and is tough to keep in system for the other side of the net. She will be heading to Illinois State who is bringing in a loaded class to the Missouri Valley Conference. Ziegler is a big time in state pick up for the Redbirds.

This I AM VBC 17 Red squad is really scrappy. There were plenty of times I thought the ball was down and they just found a way to keep it going. One of those athletes who just finds a way to get it done is six rotation outside hitter. Altendorff is an uncommitted 2025 who would be a big pick up at the next level with her ability to do a little bit of everything really well. She is extremely dynamic where she can put points on the board.
Another big time libero in this tournament was Georgia Koscielak Georgia Koscielak 5’6″ | DS/L Whitefish Bay | 2024 State WI . She is another commit who will be heading to the NSIC going North to Minnesota-Duluth. Koscielak is rock solid in serve receive, has a quiet and relaxed platform, and anticipates well for that next touch. This Sting team is really balanced and explosive. They will be in the National Division in Baltimore after winning the Badger Region Qualifier. The energy on this side of the court is really fun to watch.
Lots of love for the liberos this past weekend. Ashley Hutter Ashley Hutter 5’6″ | DS/L Pewaukee | 2025 State WI was on fire this weekend from MKE Sting 18 White where she does a great job of making the difficult plays look routine. She is so smooth with her movement and remains under control. This Sting team is a dangerous one where they have the ability to defend and score points against some tough competition.
The future Green Bay Phoenix showed why she was one of the top D4 players in Wisconsin this past fall enroute to winning a state championship. She has a ton of pop on her swing where she can do it from any spot on the court. She is a true six rotation outside where she can score from the backrow and the outside. She has a big ceiling where she has the potential to do some big things at GB.
Hansen is the QB1 for this Elevate 17s team where there is a lot of uncommitted 2025 talent who can play at the next level. I noticed Hansen at the Prep Dig Top 250 in December, saw her again at the Prep Dig Resolution in January, and this weekend she was playing with such command and confidence. I think she is a setting steal of the 2025 class where she has a combination of finesse and physicality at the net.
Infinity 17 Navy out of the Madison area has a lot of athletes who will be impact players for their high school squads this fall. They dominated day one of their pool. One of the key players was Allison Bostley Allison Bostley 6’3″ | MB Verona | 2025 State WI who really take control of the front line as a middle blocker. She is able to anticipate the other side of the net to establish a strong block and isn’t afraid to take a big swing out of the middle.

RVA came in and took control of their pool on day one going 3-0. One of the key catalysts behind their success was Avery Solomon. She was a setter who could get her hands to the ball and find a way for her hitters to terminate. One of her top targets was Tessa Davison Tessa Davison 5’10” | OH Pewaukee | 2024 State WI who had plenty of points off the sets of Solomon.
