She moved from 52 to 32 in our ranking. Another one of our top performers from a Prep Dig showcase. Last year she earned some setting opportunities for Paul VI as a frosh. This year she was their main setter, leading the team to the WCAC playoff championship and a second place finish in the VISAA. She earned a spot on the VISAA second team as well.

This year she will set for the Paramount 16 team. At 5’8″ she has decent size for a setter. She also brings a great attitude on the court. Watch for continued advances from her game.

The second Paul Vi setter to win a top performer award. Ali Joyce Ali Joyce 5'8" | S Paul VI | 2027 State VA earned a top performer last year. Maris actually made the varsity team last year as a frosh, forming a trio of rotating setters.

Maris actually ranks at number 56 in our class of 2028. She sets with soft hands which allows her to connect well with the middles. At Virginia Juniors 15 they also rotate three setters, running the quick tempo sets often. This will benefit her once she plays her second year in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC).

In addition to her ability to set quick tempo she also brings a good serve to the court. With a couple talented transfers it will be interesting to see how the setting situation sorts itself out.

Maris was one of three setters used by Paul VI last year. As a frosh she was the youngest of the trio. With Coco Lewis Coco Lewis 6'2" | OH/DS/L Paul VI | 2027 State #73 Nation VA and Louise Neuhart Louise Neuhart 6'0" | OH St. Paul VI Catholic | 2027 State VA possibly transferring to the Panthers that will certainly enhance the pins.

Maris showed good hands and a strong serve in the one set I got an opportunity to watch for Virginia Juniors 15. She brings the energetic charm you like to see in a setter.

Maris will compete in the Junior Nationals in Dallas as will two other setters from the Panthers, Ali Joyce Ali Joyce 5'8" | S Paul VI | 2027 State VA ( Loudoun Elite ) and Amanda Dadio Amanda Dadio 5'9" | S/RS St Paul VI | 2028 State VA (Paramount). You also have the returning senior Olivia LeBlanc Olivia LeBlanc 5'7" | S Paul VI | 2026 State VA . The Panthers have an embarrassment of riches at this position.
