I’ll likely write a postseason piece on the most improved players from around the state. Count on Yeggy being included. The first-year varsity starter was playing a key role for the defending state champion Spartans when I watched them at the Westside Invitational in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 11, 2025. The bouncy middle showed potential during the club campaign, at the LOVB event earlier this summer and again at August’s Prep Dig Sizzle. She’s realized a lot more of it since then. The junior is a bit undersized at times but benefits from being bouncy and very skilled. She also takes advantage of her long arms in being an imposing two-way presence in the middle of the net. Yeggy’s timing and positioning make her an effective blocker. She’s developed a lot as a hitter this year and is becoming more consistent in that area. Through 82 sets, Yeggy ranked second on PV in kills (169, .339) and her 64.0 blocks were more than twice as much as her nearest teammates.
