is one of the most reliable and technically sound defensive prospects in the Texas Class of 2028, consistently impacting matches with her composure and court awareness. At 5’6”, she has the size and speed to move all around the court with exceptional reading ability, clean first contact, and a motor that never shuts off. Carrizales shows advanced serve-receive mechanics for her age, maintaining platform discipline and balance even against aggressive servers. Defensively, she covers a ton of ground and demonstrates a natural feel for pursuit angles, allowing her to extend rallies and frustrate opposing hitters. Her ball control translates seamlessly into transition, giving her setters hittable options out of system. What stands out most is her competitive edge—she plays with confidence, communicates well, and embraces the responsibility that comes with the libero/DS role. As she continues to develop physically, Carrizales projects as a high-level back-row anchor with long-term upside at the next level.

Carrizales is the starting libero of the TAV 15 Black Jason team that is entered in the Power Pool of the 15s division. She’s quickly solidified her name among the top liberos in the state in her age group and displays an efficient and productive game every time she steps on the court. Carrizales is an elite defender, reading plays with incredible clarity and moving to the ball with impressive quickness. Her contact with the ball is always very clean, be it when playing defense or in serve-receive, and that has a lot to do with how well she positions her body. The libero plays with great hustle on the backcourt and does a great job of stepping up and setting in out-of-system plays.

Caitlin is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but that is only because I have not released them yet. She plays volleyball at Nolan Catholic High School and plays club for the Texas Advantage Volleyball program. After watching this young lady in action all weekend, I am sure of one thing…she is amazing! We have seen her before in action at our showcases but was very intrigued to watch her play with her awesome teammates against top notch competition in the Open level. I was very impressed with her ability to play the libero position in every aspect. Her ability to read the play well before it fully transpires is next level. It almost seems like she is controlling the game as if she knows the script before hand. She was always super balanced before, while moving to the ball, and during contact of it. While a lot of younger liberos are better at one aspect of the position over the others, Caitlin can truly do it all on the court at a high level. Her serve receive keeps her team’s offense running very smooth and I am unsure why anyone even tests her. Her ball control is so good that its almost better for her opponents if they do not serve her at all. Miss Carrizales is for sure a not so secret weapon that this team will use on its way to winning a lot more championships this season. Keep your eye on her because she is going to turn a lot of heads this season.
