The high school season is now upon us! Who has what it takes to win the coveted State Championship? California is one of the best states in the nation when it comes to this wonderful sport and we are here to highlight all of our amazing teams and players. Let's meet a few of the teams and players who are poised for a solid run this season.

Redondo Union Sea Hawks

This season the Sea Hawks have been picked as a top contender for the crown. Lots of prognosticators see there upperclassmen-led roster as one of the team's to beat in the Golden State. It all starts with sensational outside [player_tooltip player_id='391080' first='Abby' last='Zimmerman'] who is a phenomenal and valuable volleyball player who can play on both pins. She is the cornerstone player who will set the tone for this squad. The University of Cal at Berkeley commit can literally do it all on the court. Her amazing skill set will prove to be needed in every match if the Sea Hawks are to stay competitive. Senior right side Simi Adefemiwa can also bang with the best of them. Junior middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='391083' first='Taylor' last='Boice'] is super strong at the net and will give the opposition fits throughout the entire season. When you add a senior setter like Bella Jones to the mix, you have a recipe for a stellar offense. She certainly can thread the needle with her location to every hitter. Junior libero [player_tooltip player_id='712206' first='Addi' last='Junk'] is the back row floor general who will keep this squad in system. Super soph [player_tooltip player_id='775543' first='Shewa' last='Adefemiwa'] is making a name for herself as an attacker and could prove to be what this team needs to make a long run in the playoffs. Junior pin [player_tooltip player_id='712189' first='Avery' last='Junk'] is another fireballer that will add to the offensive arsenal of this team. We think they can definitely stay as hot as last season given their star-studded roster. We will be watching their journey closely.

Sierra Canyon Trailblazers

When we talk volleyball, the Lady Trailblazers are always mentioned because of their history in the sport. Year in and year out, they prove to have uber-talented squads that are a tough out for everyone they go up against. This year is no different as they return some awesomely talented ballers. There are too many stars to name on this roster, although some may say that they lack experience based on their grad classes. I have seen all of these young ladies in action during the club season and let me tell you this…they are special, talented, and can hang with anyone. Super sophomore pin [player_tooltip player_id='545258' first='Evangeline' last='Jeffries'] can play on both sides of the net and can also score out of the back row during play sets. Her fellow stud sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='545313' first='Hanna' last='McGinest'] is a lethal attacker who can score from any location at any time against any defense. She is scary good and has athleticism for days. Senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='706310' first='Lauren' last='Lynch'] is a defensive dandy as a digger and will not let any ball hit the floor without maximum effort. So far this season she has kept this team in a ton of rallies that looked like they would be over. Her relentless pursuit of the ball will be key for this squad as they look to keep their winning traditions alive. Defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='458807' first='Madeleine' last='“Maddie” Zaragoza'] has also been key for both serve receive and defense early this season. She is passing at a very high clip and will be a strong reason why this team stays in system with their offense. Once transfer [player_tooltip player_id='338908' first='Lucky' last='Fasavalu'] gets in the lineup, she will add so much to this stellar squad. She is a proven attacker on the pins and this past club season, she changed positions and set at the Open level. So, however coach Wigfall decides to use her, will be an amazing add to an already stacked team. Be sure to grab a seat and enjoy the show with me!

As always stay tuned for more articles on your favorite teams and athletes. If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at Michael@prepdig.com. Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends. Help us help them by simply retweeting on Twitter or sharing on Facebook. Thanks for following us, Prep Dig Cali Family! Don't be afraid to interact with us. We love the likes, shares, and quotes/comments. Keep them coming!
