Shewa Adefemiwa Shewa Adefemiwa 6'1" | RS Redondo Union | 2027 State CA is walking into UA Next with a skill-set that feels much more intentional than it did earlier this season.
One of the biggest shifts in her development has been learning how to score more calculatedly instead of simply swinging hard for the sake of swinging hard. Placement, decision-making, and creating better angles earlier are all becoming bigger parts of how she approaches attacking, especially in serve receive and transition situations.
High-level camp environments reward hitters who can make fast adjustments, solve the block, and continue scoring even when the play is not perfect. Shewa’s focus on becoming more scrappy defensively and covering more ground also points toward a player preparing herself for a faster pace and more unpredictable rallies.
Communication is another major part of how she keeps herself engaged when the level rises. Staying vocal helps elevate her energy and keeps her mentally connected to the flow of the match, especially in chaotic moments where athletes either speed up emotionally or settle in competitively.
What may stand out most tomorrow, though, is the competitive edge underneath all of it.
“I don’t settle.”
That mentality shows up throughout everything she described, from constantly chasing improvement to refusing to back down when challenged.
For an uncommitted 2027 athlete entering one of the biggest showcase environments of the summer, Shewa feels ready to compete with purpose once the whistle blows.

Please officially welcome Shewa to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 63rd best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays for Redondo Union and also the Mizuno Long Beach volleyball club program. Born with raw natural power, Miss Adefemiwa uses it with both her legs and arms during her on court performance. She can be seen exploding up into the air with a powerful vertical jump that catches spectators off-guard. Once she contacts the ball, the defense better be in proper position, because the ball will explode downward in a hurry. If there is no block in front of her, it will most likely be a straight down kill. The pace is just too fast for any defender to catch up to it. Overpasses also seem to just disappear if it is anywhere near her zone along the net. Power swinging isn’t the only thing she can do offensively as her shot-making ability is also top notch. One handed-power tips versus the block out of bounds, deep down the line, and also off-speed over the block are all part of her vast arsenal. Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot in our prestigious State Rankings.
