Expert Analysis
Mike Bryant | Prep Dig Scout
Coming off a complete performance at the Windy City NQ, Walburn had some top moments in displaying her complete skill set. The 5’11 pin can score, pass and defend on the left side of the court. What she brings as an outside hitter complements very well what this team has in the middle and other roles in their rotation. She gets her feet to the ball well and can drive the ball with good power through the full scope of the court. This team is back on the qualifying chase as they’ll be in Salt Lake later this month, looking for a 15 Open upgrade to their current 15 National bid.

Walburn can bring some big power with the speed of her arm. The primary pin hitter approaches with good momentum and timing to be able to contact assertively while moving the ball around. Her effort at the Nike Classic was a showcase of her scoring ability through a variety of attack points at both pins, inside, and from the back row. Her offensive skill set is reminiscent of recent arms in this club that were relentless in their aggressiveness when in rhythm. Mintonette m.51 finished 5th overall.

At this early point in her career, Walburn’s best offensive attribute is the power she can put on the ball at contact. When she is in rhythm and on time at the pin or out of the back row you can bet she is likely to take a big swing. At 5’11, that pace can challenge the defense well. Look for her impact to grow as her timing and momentum become more fluid.
