About Maddy

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very aggressive player. I go after everything, and nothing hits the floor if I can help it. I take up as much space as I can in serve receive to take the pressure off my hitters. I am very loud, and everyone knows when the ball is mine.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am self-motivated, and I always strive to be better than the game or practice before. I am very encouraging, and I will always let a teammate know when they did something good. I go for every single ball no matter what, and my mindset is always that I can get anything.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in Dance Blue at my school along with youth volleyball camps at my school as well. I am top 10 in my class, and I am also in the Spanish National Honors Society. I also tutor chemistry to my peers for service.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have worked with little kids during youth camps, and I have helped them develop their volleyball skills, while also increasing their confidence on the court. I developed a sense of leadership on the court as the Libero. I run the back row, and make sure everyone knows what their job is, and I try to keep everyone focused when the game gets tough.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

At the beginning of my high school season, I was not the starting Libero, but I knew had the ability to. I had to fight for my spot on the court through practice and games. Even when I wasn't rewarded in the first game, I put my head down and let my skills speak for themselves. The next game, I earned my spot, and I got to lead my team through the rest of our historic season.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a division one college that is a pretty good size. I would like it to be north where is snows. It would also be nice if it was in a big city.

Warner had another great game at the libero spot for the Knights. Warner handled a lot of low line drive shots under control helping out the Knights offense. Warner aligns herself with blocks to be able to handle crosses and other shots. Warner said crisp first touches keep rallies going. Warner added when blocks are set up, teams can set up the defense around them. Warner had 15 digs in the championship game for the Knights.
