Preview: Kansas Klassic Tournament

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Seaman will be hosting a summer tournament on June 14.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The event will take place at two locations, with varsity squads playing at Seaman High School and junior varsity squads competing at the middle school.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Teams expected to compete include Jefferson West, Holton, Hayden, Emporia, Shawnee Heights, Sabetha, Louisburg, Silver Lake, Riley County, and the host Vikings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I plan to scout three or four matches at the event on Saturday morning. My schedule is always flexible, with matches on different courts sometimes getting off schedule. As of now, here are the three matches at the front of the line for me, but I have backup games just in case.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>8:30 Hayden vs Emporia (Court 2)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>9:15 Sabetha vs Louisburg (Court 3)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>10:00 Seaman vs Jeff West (Court 1)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p> I won't be able to see every team and every player at the tournament; however, I am familiar with many of the ranked athletes who will be competing. I am not sure I will get to see Morgan and her teammates compete in this event. Morgan has been a setter but has been getting personal training to improve her defensive skills to possibly play DS at the college level. I have seen her play multiple times, and she wears a smile every time she steps on the court. Jeff West starts its tournament against Holton on Court I. That match is scheduled to start in the 9:15 am window. Depending on the flow of matches, I plan on scouting Jeff West's second match of the day against host Seaman. Schwinn is a powerful middle on a team loaded with talent. Holton opens competition against the host Vikings at 8:30 am in the first match scheduled on Court 1. I plan on watching Wilson and Holton play against Jeff West at 9:15 if everything stays on schedule. Wilson can jump out of the gym and, along with her teammates, will have a State Tournament or Bust attitude this fall. Hayden was a young club last season that finished third at the Class 4A State Tournament. I look forward to seeing how this squad of young multi-sport athletes plays this early in the summer. I plan on scouting Hayden's 8:30 am opening match against Emporia. Foster is a defensive guru who, last season, was the glue for the Wildcats. She is ranked No. 30 overall and is the third-ranked libero in the Kansas Class of 2026.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
