<p>The Central Valley League volleyball teams are preparing for the upcoming 2025 season, which starts in a few short weeks. In case you missed last season, here is a short recap for the top four teams in this league with some impactful returning players from each team. </p>

<p><strong>#1- Sprague High School </strong></p>

<p>Sprague placed #3 in state, just under Oregon City after their win against West Linn in the playoffs. Their league wins sit at 10-2 and their overall wins at 25-7. Sprague has been in the top 10 in the state for the past three years, sitting in the #2 seat in 2023 just below Jesuit.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Livingston, although minorly short for a pin hitter, makes it up with her incredibly jumping ability. This First Team All-League select works hard to attack the ball, both on her side of the net and on the opponents side. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Ranked #1 in the state according to Prep Dig rankings, winning player of the year and making the First Team All-League selections, Friesen is a force to be reckoned with. Her height alone challenges other teams along with her high volleyball IQ and ability to run her offense. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Lorhman, ranked #3 for her position in her class, won an Honorable Mention for the All-League selects this past season. She leaves it all on the court, working hard to always better the ball even when it seems impossible. </p>

<p><strong>#2- South Salem High School </strong></p>

<p>South Salem ended their season in the #6 seat for OSAA state rankings and second in their league. They won 10 games and lost two during their league season, winning 23 games overall and losing eight. In 2019, South Salem placed #34 in the state, slowly climbing up the rankings each year.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Orizotti won a First Team All-League spot this past season. The returning senior for the Saxons has wonderful ball control, steady hands, and a high volleyball IQ allowing her to trick and challenge her opponents. </p>

<p><strong>#3- West Salem High School </strong></p>

<p>West Salem placed third in their league and #14 in the state at the end of their 2024 season. Their league wins stand at 7-5 and their overall wins at 19-9. They have steadily remained between 14 and 22 over the past couple of seasons, making room for a higher ranking after the 2025 season.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Dixon is a returning senior for the Titans, making the Second Team All-League selections this past season. Dixon understands the game of volleyball by placing balls where passers are absent, pushing the other team to work hard and never take her for granted. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Jespersen is a fast, accurate and hard working backrow passer who earned a spot on the First Team All-League selections. Her hustle and determination to get the ball up makes it hard for opponents to score. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Parent dominates both in the middle and on the pins. This tall returning senior can be calm and composed and powerful and aggressive, four attributes that are essential to the game of volleyball. </p>

<p><strong>#4- McNary High School </strong></p>

<p>McNary ended their season 4th in their league and #34 in the state with their league wins at 3-9 and their overall wins at 6-17. A slight bump down from their 2023 season where they placed #23 in the state but this opens doors for tenacious and eager new players to replace the four seniors that recently graduated.</p>
