Gonzaga Prep took home the Sundome Tournament title for large schools, and there was no shortage of players who stood out for the team from Spokane. [player_tooltip player_id='518994' first='Sophia' last='Schwab'] hammered the ball for crucial kills out of the middle and showed off her athleticism and versatility running routes on the right side as well. The senior has great hands; she sets during club; her play out of the middle will be an important part of the Bullpups' chase for a state trophy.

Hanson is patrolling the middle for Puyallup, and the Vikings have already notched a win over a tough Cascade Christian squad. Hanson has excellent length, and her offensive numbers should be terrific this season as she finishes her high school career. The senior standout racked up six crucial blocks in the hotly contested victory over Cascade Christian. The Vikings ultimately prevailed in three sets: 25-23, 25-21, and 26-24.

Krumland has been a major part of the current Kamiakin streak of league titles in the Mid-Columbia Conference. The dynamic outside is a Whitworth pledge, and the Braves have started off the season with three wins over conference foes Southridge, Kennewick, and Hermiston. Krumland is a terrific athlete; she plays bigger than her 5'7" height and exhibits excellent, positive energy and six-rotation skill on the court.

Stephan and her Lynden team are coming into the year looking for a return to the state tournament. The UW commit is setting a big block in the early season and should be a dominant force at the net for the Lions. An early-season win in five sets over Wenatchee was an impressive tone setter. Stephan is experienced, athletic, and has the size and skill to carry her squad in big matches.

North Thurston has the look of a team on a mission after taking home a second-place trophy in the 3A ranks last season. Senior Sammi Humphrey is a force for the Rams, currently operating the offense out of the 5-1 and averaging an impressive 9.6 assists per set. The future Lewis and Clark State player is athletic and smart, and sets with excellent tempo. Her squad will be a tough out for teams this season.
