All the top ten have committed however there are still some talented athletes from the Class of 2026 who have yet to commit. The top three on this list are setters. Not clear if any of these players will play club this coming season. Below is also a list of where the DMV players on the rosters of the top 25 college teams were ultimately ranked by Prep Dig.

A solid setter with good court sense. She knows how to run an offense, whether it is setting a 5/1 or a 6/2. Even at 5'9" she has the ability to contribute to the offense hitting right side.

For Woodson, the last couple years have been down years. They have lacked that big offensive player that can end rallies. Despite that Sofie finds herself fourth on the team in kills with the top hitting percentage at .244, first on the team in blocks, services aces and assists and third on the team in digs.

She actually ranks as the fourth best setter in the class of 2026. The top setter [player_tooltip player_id='238357' first='Claire' last='Mo'] has won a couple state championships and is committed to Columbia.

[player_tooltip player_id='495264' first='Ela' last='Shepherd'] setter (Christiansburg) - A little surprised by her lack of commitment to date. Definitely one of the more complete setters in the class of 2026. She lists at 5'10", swings lefthanded with a quick arm that can put velocity on the ball. Last year for Christiansburg she finished with 252 kills and 481 assists. For her career she should finish with over 1,000 kills and over 2,000 assists. This year she actually leads her team in kills with a .444 hitting percentage and leads in blocks. The team appears to run a 6/2 allowing Ela to hit when in the front row. The Blue Demons are one of the favorites to win the Class 3 Virginia State championships.

Her older sister committed to Texas Southern but she did not win a state championship when she set for Riverside. Sydney won a state championship last year and fell just short two years ago, losing their only match of the year in the finals of the state championship.

As a result of the state championship Sydney earned an MVP award for her conference while also snagging first team all state and all Region honors. A team leader that directs the offense. She possesses a high volleyball IQ knowing who to set based on defensive alignment. She also is aware that with [player_tooltip player_id='301696' first='Nadiya' last='Johnson'] on her right side she is the go to player when the team is in a bind.

Riverside should again find themselves in the running for the Class 5 state championship. Sydney will also continue to be named to the all district, region and state teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='320815' first='Tenley' last='Mattison'] middle (unknown/[program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge']) - Tenley was the middle for [program_tooltip program_id='494409' first='Blue' last='Ridge'] that allowed them to be the number three ranked club in the Chesapeake Region. She also helped James Wood win two state championships. When she played middle James Wood abandoned the use of a libero because her passing and defense were just as good as any libero. A six rotation middle who could probably hit outside. Tenley stands 5'10" with two state championships under her belt. She moved away from the James Wood school district.

Elizabeth stands somewhere between 6'1" and 6'3" depending on what site you are looking at. Elizabeth carries the versatility to play either middle or right side. For Club 540 she played right side. For Colgan she finds herself playing middle.

She was a frosh the year Colgan lost in the finals of the state championship. She hopes that her senior year will result in a state championship. Currently her ability to put up a strong block is superior to her hitting. The ability is there to put the ball away.

Last year she was second on her team in blocks and third in kills. Colgan is my favorite to win the state championship and Elizabeth will contribute any championship.

She plays for the Metro team that placed third in the Open Division at Junior Nationals. Unfortunately, that team is stacked with pin hitters that her ability to find playing time is limited. She is my definition of a diamond in the rough.

For Patriot she plays six rotations but at 6'2" she sometimes struggles on getting to the short serves. The advantage of having her back row is to have her offense available in six rotations. Though she may not get a lot of playing time for Metro she is clearly the top hitter for Patriot. She leads the team in kills and sits second in blocks.

Patriot should compete for the Class 6 state championship this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='238850' first='Sydney' last='Bennett'] middle (Patriot) - A 6'2 middle who can put up a pretty good block and hit the ball with force in the middle. If you watch Patriot play you can get a twofer, watching two top ranked players in action. At one point she played for Virginia Juniors, but she went back to American a couple years ago to continue competing with the players she feels comfortable with. Sydney is first on the team in blocks but her offensive production slides her down to sixth on the team in kills. Her hitting percentage is at .371 which is second on the team.

[player_tooltip player_id='412056' first='Elizabeth' last='Mitchell'] left side (Richard Montgomery) - From a talent perspective everyone looks at her younger sister [player_tooltip player_id='536719' first='Katherine' last='Mitchell'] who leads Richard Montgomery in kills. Her little sister is also a couple inches taller than her. That does not mean Elizabeth can't play. Since she has been playing left side the Rockets have won two state championships. This year she sits second on the team in kills, with her and Katherine accounting for more than 75 percent of their team's kills. The Rockets should get to the finals and Elizabeth will be a contributing factor.

Early in her career, before she became a teen, Lilly was an outside hitter. Her growth only got her to 5'5" so she has fit in at libero. She plays libero for [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''], which gives her high visibility. For National Cathedral she returns to her pre-teen days and hits outside.

She actually sits second on her team in kills, but brings on her libero shoes for playing defense, ranking on top in digs. Despite the outside play, libero is her position of choice if asked to play in college. She shows great anticipation on the court and moves her feet well. She may lack the flair of other liberos because she knows where to play on defense, limiting her need to have to dive for the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='238595' first='Sofia' last='Delarosa'] outside (Bishop McNamara) - Sofia plays down for [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] as a right side. She plays for the stacked [program_tooltip program_id='476729' first='Paramount' last=''] 16 team that qualified for the Open Division at Junior Nationals. At 5'10 her height may be undersized for a right side. For Bishop McNamara she plays left side. Currently she stands second on her team in kills. Normally, she was limited to three rotations but this year she has expanded to six. This year she appears to be one of the more consistent passers on the team. That is a testament to her growth as a player.

25. North Carolina - Safi Hampton (Hammond/Metro). Raked number 1 in the class of 2023.

Number two in the class of 2024 rankings was Erin Debiec, who is now the starting redshirt frosh setter for Colorado State. Number three in that class was Mailinh Godschall who is the starting libero for Duke. Both played for that Metro team with Cari Spears, Emmi Sellman and Ryla Jones. Now that was a team for the ages.
