TX HS Playoffs: Seven Lakes sweep Ridge Point in Regional Semis

<p>The high school volleyball playoffs continue to progress in the state of Texas, and in just over two weeks, on November 22, new state champions will be crowned.</p>   <p>We, at Prep Dig Texas, are excited to be covering the decisive moments of another season of high school volleyball in our state and will attend as many matches as possible every week in the Houston area, producing articles, photos and social media posts that highlight the impressive performances and accomplishments of our players.</p>   <p>On Friday, November 7, we returned to Wheeler Field House, in Sugar Land, to catch the Regional Semifinal duel between the Ridge Point Panthers and the Seven Lakes Spartans.</p>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li><strong>Ridge Point vs. Seven Lakes - <a href="https://prepdig.com/2025/11/texas-hs-playoffs-ridge-point-vs-seven-lakes-photos/">Photos</a></strong></li> </ul>   <p>With a flawless performance, the Spartans dominated from start to finish and advanced with an emphatic 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-14) victory.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/grtorres/status/1986967087558860938/ </div></figure>   <p>With the victory, Seven Lakes improved their season record to 27-11 and qualified to face Dawson in the Regional Final. Ridge Point ended their season with 33 wins and 14 losses.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top Performers</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">The junior was a beast in the middle, and her incredible performance helped Seven Lakes dominate the net and control the game. Ngoh was absolutely unstoppable offensively, converting 13 of her 19 swings into points and making no offensive errors at all. The power of her arm swing was just too much for Ridge Point defenders, who, when they managed to get into the right spot, had no chance of controlling the ball. Ngoh was very consistent with her production during the entire match and also contributed a pair of blocks and an ace in an excellent performance.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2025/11/2J4A0102.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-902700" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">The junior outside hitter had a major offensive role with the Spartans, being the focal point of their offense and producing consistently throughout the match. Hobin displayed great variation offensively, hitting from the left, the right and the middle back position at a very good level - she was very good at hitting the slide. The junior tallied ten kills and was very patient and mature with her decision-making, not pushing too much when not in ideal conditions. She also registered nine passes (and no errors), nine digs, two blocks and an ace in an excellent all-around performance.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/grtorres/status/1986956447243014613 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">The sophomore was a defensive anchor for the Spartans, making a massive impact at the net with incredible length and blocking ability. Okwura was brilliant at reading the game and reacting to it, getting an impressive eight stops, between registering stuff blocks and sending overpasses straight down. Some of those spots came in critical moments of the match, putting Ridge Point's hitters under pressure. Okwura also had an excellent offensive performance, registering eight kills out of her 13 swings.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2025/11/2J4A0051.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-902679" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">The senior libero was pivotal in the Spartans' impressive performance. Chapman was excellent in serve-receive, covering a large portion of the court and keeping her team in system the entire time - she had a team-high 16 passes. Her defensive performance was also very solid, generating 11 digs for Seven Lakes and stepping up when dealing with free balls. Chapman also did a good job when setting in transition, registering a pair of assists, fired a pair of aces, and was an emotional leader for her team, keeping the spirits high and helping them go through the moments of pressure.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2025/11/2J4A0008.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-902664" /></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">The senior outside hitter came up big in key moments for the Spartans, making plays in critical times and paving the way for their victory. Lott wasn't as effective as the other hitters on the team, registering eight kills in 24 swings, but she scored back-to-back points at the end of set two in a moment in which Ridge Point was close to winning it, and that could have changed the rest of the match. She showed good variation in her offense, picking the right shots to beat the block and limiting her errors.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/grtorres/status/1986949390087409836 </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">The senior outside hitter was easily Ridge Point's best player on the court, contributing in several different areas of the game. Robinson tried as much as she could to carry her team to victory, but didn't have much help and couldn't have done more. She stepped up and got as involved as she could, covering a lot of ground in serve-receive and calling for the ball almost every time on offense. Robinson had a solid offensive performance, finding ways to put the ball down even when she was strongly defended by Seven Lakes' big blockers.</p>    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/grtorres/status/1986938331007943075/ </div></figure>    <p class="text-gray-700">The senior setter did a good job of trying to diversify her offense and get all her hitters involved. After a difficult first set, she realized she'd need to use Robison as much as she could and was efficient at getting her the ball in good spots to score, while also using different sets in every position to give her a little bit of an edge.
