10 players you need to see in February

February is where separation starts to show in the club world. The grind of the season sharpens players, shows who is being consistent, and brings out competitors who elevate when matches tighten.   As regional play heats up and college coaches start looking at film and live looks, these are the volleyball players turning heads right now. These athletes are making plays in high-leverage moments, controlling matches beyond the stat sheet, and trending up when it matters most. If you're tracking momentum, growth, and impact, these are the names to keep on your radar this February.   If I was a fan I would make sure to check out these 10 girls at some point this month!    Avery is a player who stands out in a number of areas. First she is super quick on her feet and makes if look effortless when she contacts a ball. Her technique is smooth and flawless as she touches the ball. She gets good extension on her passes and doesn't get out of position too often. She does a great job on those contacts of keeping her team in system and controlling the back row with her communication and skill level.   She also puts a incredible out of system ball for her hitters, it makes it seem like they aren't even out of system. Even more impressive is her ability to cover hitters and put the team back into system even after her team gets blocked. Avery is also LOUD, and we do love our LOUD liberos who can communicate and have that energy a team needs. In longer rallies she is also relentless, never quitting on a play and never not moving her feet in transition. She does a wonderful job with her movement as she goes from serve receive to coverage and back to base.   Easily a player you need to get out and see this month! She is a monster on defense and passes straight dimes in serve receive. She always elevates her teams levels with her play and is someone that is going to contribute at the next level.     Mylo impacts the match in every phase and plays with the maturity of an upperclassman. Offensively, she is a reliable, high-volume attacker who scores from both pins with a fast arm and the ability to tool or attack high hands against a block. She sees the court well for someone so young, and mixes speed intelligently. She also remains productive in both in-system and out-of-system situations. Her approach is clean and repeatable, and won't need much work as she gets older and faster/stronger.   Beyond the arm, her overall game is trending up quickly. She moves well laterally, competes defensively, and shows a willingness to pass and play extended rallies. Her volleyball IQ is ahead of schedule, particularly in how she adjusts shot selection and responds after errors. As she continues to grow physically and refine strength and footwork, her offensive ceiling is significant. She has such a high ceiling we are excited to see where she lands in a few seasons.   Overall, if you happen to be watching the 14's play this weekend or in future weekends you will get a chance to see a high-impact pin with the tools to develop into a six-rotation attacker as she continues to develop.     Anabelle is a top recruit in the 2028 class and might be one of the best liberos in the state. One of her best traits is she is a high-IQ defensive leader with elite court coverage, as it seems her range is unlimited. She shows advanced composure for her age (all while playing up) and thrives in high-pressure rotations. Her serve receive is some of the most elite in the class, featuring a calm platform, and strong directional control that keeps the offense in system. She passes at a high efficiency rate against tough servers and rarely gives away free points.   Defensively, she displays an exceptional first step and lateral quickness, allowing her to dig hard-driven balls while maintaining balance and control. Her anticipation stands out, as she consistently reads hitter tendencies and adjusts her positioning before contact, often arriving in the correct spot early. She absorbs hard drive balls well, keeps balls playable/on target, and transitions quickly back into base defense. Beyond the physical tools, her volleyball IQ and communication elevate the entire unit. She throughout a match/set will organizes serve-receive, talks through defensive adjustments, and shows natural leadership qualities.   This is someone to see this month because with continued physical development she projects as a high-level Division I libero with Power 5 upside. Any team in the state would benefit from having someone of this caliber as their libero.     Kami is having a excellent start to the season and is on a exponential growth rate this season. From where she was at the end of last season to where she is today she is already jumping higher and swinging harder. She is really coming out of her shell and showcasing the top level talent she is and doing it all by playing on one of the best teams in AZ.   What separates her is her complete game. Kami is a steady passer who can be trusted in primary serve-receive rotations, keeping the offense balanced and in system. Defensively, she moves well laterally (fast too), reads attackers early, and consistently keeps balls in play with top level technique. Her transition game is efficient—she goes from pass or dig to approach quickly and with purpose.   Overall Kami understands shot selection, mixing power with smart placement, and continues to find ways to score even when the set is off the net. Her competitiveness shows during game play especially on offense, where she looks to be a terminal option rather than simply keeping the ball in play. If you are looking to get out and see a true 6 rotational pin who ceiling is still come, this is your player!     Now, when we write about liberos it all sounds the same... she is good at A, and B, and this... but I tell you what.. when you watch Bela move on the floor it is just different. THIS is why you need to go watch her play if you get a chance. She can be covering a hitter on the right side and will effortlessly move all the way back to base, dig a ball, and go cover another hitter. It really seems as she is moving at the fastest pace I have seen. It also helps that every ball she passes is a dime and her team can stay in system.   On the other side of her game play she shows advanced serve-receive mechanics with a calm platform, early angle recognition, and the ability to control first contact against tougher servers. She plays within herself, limits errors, and keeps the offense in system with almost every touch. She is showing poise well beyond her experience level and age each weekend she plays. Most importantly she seems to be having a good time playing and her energy is contagious as her teammates feed off her and seemed relax with their game play with her leading the way.   Bela is a well balanced libero who can contribute in a number of ways both with her game play and with her leadership. She is one of the fastest liberos I have seen play and is one of the best to do all the little things a coach needs. Make sure to catch her at a tournament this month as she continues to impress everyone!     The coach and scout in me love a high potential setter who could also just be a hitter as well. We have that her in Greer who is a versatile, high-upside athlete whose offensive instincts and court awareness stand out early in her development. As a setter, she shows confident hands, clean release, and a growing command of tempo, delivering hittable balls to all hitters while keeping the offense organized. She makes smart decisions in transition and shows natural leadership qualities for her age. Her willingness to run the middle and create balance speaks to an advanced feel for the position.   On the right side, she adds another layer of value as a legitimate attacking option. She times the block well, attacks with good range off the right side, and moves well for a young hitter. Her length and body control allow her to be effective both as a hitter and a blocker and as her physical strength and footwork continue to develop, her dual-position potential is significant, projecting her as a dynamic setter/right-side hybrid.   We love the word POTENTIAL as a scout and Greer is someone oozing with it. I would say in a year or two we will be talking about a player on our rankings list as she continues to get stronger and develop her game even more. The sky is the limit for her in the coming years!     A 2029 playing on a 17s team is always something you need to see, however you would never know by watching Outlaws 17 play that she is 2-3 years younger over some of these girls. Isabella defensively reads hitters well and shows a quick first step that allows her to arrive early and stay balanced through contact. She absorbs pace effectively, keeps balls playable, and transitions smoothly back into defensive base.   Most impressively is her anticipation and hustle that she shows on the floor. This allows her to cover large areas of the court, often turning impossible balls into playable opportunities and not only playable but in system plays. Calm under pressure and highly coachable, she communicates effectively, directs the back row, and sets up her teammates for success.   She has really come into her own this season, she is someone who is playing up in age and is dominating against girls who are older. She is a really great libero who is fundamentally sound and has elite technique. We know we can't wait to see her play this month and you shouldn't miss the chance either!     One thing about Jayden that makes her someone to go watch is seeing her decision making in matches. She seems to always make the right choice when it comes to running her offense. She won't just make the safe play, and actually use her court IQ to know who to get the ball too. Her hands are also very soft and her technique is flawless when it comes to hand placement. She has the ability to get perfect sets on balls that are out of system for some other setter.   As for her overall ability, she is capable of running a full 5-1 and being an asset with her offense as well. She can handle herself on defense against any team/hitter, and is always in the right position whether she is taking a hard driven shot or reading the off speed tip. Lastly she has a good serve, that can keep a team out of system with its pace and she is smart about her location with it. She is just so fundamentally sound in so many areas it really is hard to pick 1-2 good things as she does so many things well.   Overall Jayden is a great setter, who can do a lot for her team. She has a bright future in volleyball and someone you need to get out and watch as she plays this season.     Ivy is a 6'2 middle who is a dynamic front-row presence and whose ability to score consistently separates her from peers at the position. Offensively, she runs a fast, efficient tempo and is a true threat in front of the setter, showing quick feet/lift, CLEAN arm mechanics, and the ability to terminate against single and late double blocks. She has expanded her scoring range with effective slides and more temp sets when free balls are available. Her timing with the setter is advanced, allowing her to be productive even when the offense is slightly out of system.   On the defensive end she puts up a big block and does a great job pressing over the net to get a lot of points. She has great footwork and seems to close the block more often then not and will get good touches on a block even when she doesn't get the point. Overall her agility and anticipation make her a disruptive presence at the net when and causes a lot of fits for the teams she plays.   Ivy is someone who is currently on our watch list but will rise into the rankings this next go around. She has done a great job developing her game and will be someone who will get college looks if she wants based on her game play ability.     Kaylie is a younger setter that you need to get out and see; as she is playing well past her years as a setter. You would never know she is a 2028 from the way she plays. First she delivers hittable balls to all areas on the court, regardless of where she is. Her form and movement is clean and she repeats it easily each time. Most importantly she never just settles for the safe set, as she will take the best set for her team in that moment.   She is very athletic as well, has great footwork that not only benefits her with her setting but is also a major asset in defense as well. With this footwork and positioning it allows her to get to tough passes, while her consistent release and accurate sets make her a reliable playmaker under pressure. Beyond these technical skills, she demonstrates strong leadership, communicating effectively and keeping her team organized and focused. She is the quarterback of her team and her teammates respond well to her in all areas of the game.   Kaylie is a future star for Basha over the coming years, but don't wait till high school season to come see her. She is someone who is playing to a high level for Omni at the moment and if you get a moment and want to see this athletic setter... make your way to a tournament one of these weekends!
