About Grace

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a competitive, aggressive, and energetic player who is a leader. I focus on being dependable and coachable. I am determined to always improve my game. I am a supportive teammate and good at communicating with my team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

In life I am a pretty quiet person but on the volleyball court I am different person. I bring energy, focus, and strong communication to the court. I know mistakes are going to happen so I focus on learning from them. I try and pump up my team whether with a play that I make myself or a play a teammate makes. I am there with excitement and encouragement.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am member of student ambassadors at my high school. Student ambassadors help new students feel welcome and feel heard. I help out at school events to show off how great my high school is.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed skills like communication, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership through school, activities, and helping others in the community. Learning how to work with different people has taught be how to be patient, stay organized, cooperate, and support others while becoming more dependable and confident.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, I have faced some personal challenges, like the loss of my uncle and a close family friend. Going through all these losses was very difficult and this taught me how important support from family and friends can be. I also balance school and other responsibilities. Having many responsibilities has taught me the importance of staying organized, focused, and not to be afraid to ask for help.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to go into education and teach little kids because I want to make a difference in the lives of students like my own teachers have for me. I want my college to be a positive and safe environment. I want to be respected in my opinions and beliefs. I want to learn from my professors so that I can be successful in life.
