Abby Woodward Abby Woodward 5'7" | DS/L Blessed Trinity | 2028 State GA is the type of libero whose workload immediately tells you something about how much her team trusts her. She leads one of Georgia’s top teams at 4.5 digs per set and has already accumulated 332 digs this season. Blessed Trinity also places a significant amount of its serve-receive responsibility on her.

What I like most about Woodward’s profile is that she doesn’t appear limited to simply making the first contact. Earlier team statistics also credited her with 67 assists, which speaks to the ability to step in and keep an offense functional when the setter takes the first ball.

That’s an underrated recruiting trait. At the college level, the libero who can make the spectacular dig is useful. The libero who consistently turns uncomfortable situations into something playable is even more valuable.

For Woodward, I’d want recruiters watching her platform discipline, pursuit effort and how calmly she handles being targeted. Playing libero for a team with expectations also brings pressure, and she appears comfortable carrying a large share of that responsibility.~ S.Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga

Abby has steadily developed from a freshman libero into one of Blessed Trinity’s most important first-contact players.

The 5-foot-7 junior currently leads BT in digs per set and entered this season with more than 500 career varsity digs and nearly 900 serve-receive contacts.

Tuesday will challenge her ability to read before she moves. Pope has experienced attackers who can change speeds and attack different portions of the court, so guessing becomes dangerous. Abby’s posture, platform discipline and relationship with the block will be important.

Her bigger influence may be communication. When the libero takes ownership of seams and short-ball responsibility, the entire passing unit becomes more decisive. Blessed Trinity has plenty of offensive firepower; Abby helps determine how often the Titans actually get to use all of it. ~ S.Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga

Abby already handled substantial responsibility in Blessed Trinity’s serve-receive system, leading the team with 476 receptions while adding 217 digs and 43 aces. She finished second on the roster in both digs and serving aces during a season in which Blessed Trinity went undefeated in region play.

The upcoming season gives Abby an opportunity to move from dependable contributor to backcourt leader. Her impact will be visible in how confidently she manages seams, whether she can stabilize difficult rotations and how consistently she converts defensive contacts into usable transition opportunities. Blessed Trinity possesses plenty of front-row talent, but that talent becomes considerably more dangerous when a defender like Abby consistently gives the offense quality first contact. ~ S.Fitzgerald @BenchtoBeast_prepdigga

Steady and instinctive, Woodward’s reads on the opposing offense were impressive. Her ability to stay balanced in motion and deliver accurate passes made her a key piece of the Titans’ system. Confident with both platform and float serve.
