About Alexis

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I make adjustments quickly and read the court well. I focus on being a reliable, aggressive, and consistent player. I am very confident in my abilities and put in full effort in practices and games.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I stay strong mentally and always try to lift my teammates up and push them to be the best they can be. I have lots of fun on and off the court and don’t linger on my prior mistakes.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am part of the Mariners Church Special Needs and Kids Ministry. I have received three Principal’s Honor Roll Awards, which is given to students with a 4.0 GPA or above. I am also a member of the California Scholastic Federation.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed much stronger and consistent serve receive over the past few years. I’ve also learned how to step up as a leader for my team and take initiative. Additionally, I do community service through Mariners Church and help with special needs kids. It has changed a lot in me and has allowed me to see that they are no less than anyone else.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Beginning of 14’s season, I never played. I’d maybe be put in if we were up 10. It was after the 3rd tournament when I spoke to my coach about what I could work on. I was so motivated because I knew it was possible. I wasn’t the best, but knew I COULD be the best. As the year went on, I continued to improve, and by the middle of the season, I became starting libero, and I was rarely ever taken off

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like to go to a bigger college and play on a competitive team there. I’d look for a team that has a good culture and good connection.
