Miss Ahn is already on the Fairfax varsity roster and has earned a Prep Dig state ranking in the 2029 class, which signals that her defensive skills have been consistently visible against competition older than her.  As a libero, the attributes that matter most are platform discipline on first contact, lateral range and floor coverage and the composure she shows when a serve or attack puts her in a recovery situation. The national showcase in Indianapolis is a meaningful step up in competition and the way she responds to that elevated level of play will tell evaluators a great deal about how her profile will develop as she moves through her high school years. From what we see so far in her highlight reels is someone who looks like they deserve some looks from scouts, so we will get to see her in action in person.  We are very excited to have the opportunity to evaluate her skills. 

I did not see Blake play club last season since she played a year down for the Metro 13 team. With Fairfax playing unusually well during the high school season I went out to see what players were leading them to their success. Blake plays with quick feet and a calm, quiet platform, traits that all good liberos possess. Her anticipation for reading the offense is superb but she can also react when forced to hit the floor. She made my all frosh team joining Harper Walker Harper Walker 5'7" | DS/L/OH Annapolis Area Christian | 2029 State VA and Angelie Rose Carrasco Angelie Rose Carrasco 5'2" | DS/L Colgan | 2029 State VA for the 2025 high school season.

Blake debuts at number 49 in our class of 2029 rankings.

When I watch a libero I look for fast feet and a calm and quiet platform. Blake fits that criteria. While she did not play the libero position for Fairfax she still consistently covered the back row as a defensive specialist. For the club season Blake went unnoticed since she played for Metro 13 last year. When scouting players I stay at 14 or above.

Her quick feet allow her to get to her defensive base quickly while her calm platform provides her with consistent passing. Next year she should take over the libero position.
