Harper Walker’s defense is the anchor of this AACS group. “I am best known for my defense, my serve receive, and being a great libero,” she said. “When times are tough with big hitters at the net, my coaches choose to take away the line and funnel cross to me so I can make a play.”

What stands out beyond the skill is how she describes her role emotionally. “I naturally take on the role of being someone my team can land on, like a safety pad who’s always there to help them back up when they’re down.” That’s a libero who understands her job is bigger than digs.

Harper is building her college list and actively in the recruiting process, with Division I as her goal. She’s a ten-year Girl Scout at the Senior level and plays the alto saxophone.

Much like the other Metro Travel team I’m going to try to share the love and not just list a bunch of them. Harper is a fantastic DS, and was a big part of the reason 15 National had a good run at Cap Classic last weekend. Every game I got to see her, she was constantly getting big hits back in the air, and getting the ball in good spots so that the offense could do their job. She’s one of the more steady defenders in the back row and those are becoming more and more important with the number of 6 foot plus girls dropping bombs back there on so many teams. Harper did a great job showing her range and keeping balls up many DS wouldn’t even bother trying for, she’s the heart of this National team.

She actually rose in the rankings, making her debut last year in the mid-30s range. A technical glitch dropped her from the rankings. Now she ranks at 22.

She did well as the libero for Maryland Juniors 14. That skill transferred over to her play for Annapolis Area Christian, one of five frosh who started for the team and led them to an A Bracket IAAM championship. She ranked second on the team in digs and third in service aces.

Harper appears to have switched her club affiliation from Maryland Juniors to Metro for the 2026 season.

Harper becomes the fourth player from the Maryland Jrs 14 team to make the frosh all tournament team. Only the current Paramount 15 team has more players. She is also the third player from Annapolis Area Christian to make the team.

Harper played libero for the Annapolis Area Christian school which won the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland (IAAM) conference A Bracket. Harper ranked second on the team in digs as well as second in serve receive.

She is another player who won top performer after her appearance at a Prep Dig showcase over the summer.
