About Darby

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a very active, aggressive, team player. I am a leader on the court. I do this by, being positive and encouraging to my teammates at all times, and do not get down.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I work hard at everything I do. I believe that teamwork is what is needed. I make sure to include others, and am always positive no matter what. I lead my teams by being an example.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in 4-H and FFA I have received academic letters each year in High School, due to my good grades.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed my leadership skills. I used to be much quieter on the court, and as we have grown older it really take a leader on the team to help keep everyone positive and playing together. I volunteer with the Special Olympics, Ronald McDonald House Topeka and in the concession stand at games.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have been injured while playing volleyball and softball. I sprained my ankle during a volleyball match. I knew my team needed me to play in the tournament 3 days later. I worked hard to overcome the injury to be healthy and play in the tournament. When playing softball, I dislocated my finger during the game. I continued to play, so that my team had a center fielder.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for what is the best fit for me.
