Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Ortmeier took a huge leap forward during Omaha Skutt Catholic’s stint at the Class B tournament. She produces many of the positive block touches that won’t show up on the box score. Of course, Ortmeier also anchored the rally-ending blocks that were scored. Either way, this junior will carry an even larger role next season as the SkyHawks look to restart the title streak.

We’re staying in the middle for our next Class B entry. Ortmeier has been a versatile contributor with the SkyHawks for multiple seasons, and she’s playing her best volleyball right now. She made exceptional blocking reads throughout Skutt Catholic’s bout with Waverly. The junior also worked hard in transition to make herself available on in-system plays. The SkyHawks will go for ten consecutive Class B titles when Ortmeier and Skutt Catholic return to the floor on Saturday.

Ortmeier has been a late-season standout on several occasions. She frequently used her quick arm as Premier 16 Black stormed through April’s Great Plains Region Bid Tournament. That momentum escalated as Ortmeier battled through GJNC’s stacked 16 National division. The Omaha Skutt Catholic middle blocker found ways to score even when two net defenders were dedicated to slowing her down. She also varied her routes throughout GJNC, allowing Ortmeier to showcase her range as a slide attacker. We’re looking forward to a crucial junior season for this Omaha-area athlete.
