The Patriots are one of the top teams with an overall record of 19-3 and currently unbeaten in Ohio Capital-Central league play. Lough is a key contributor at nearly two kills per set. At 5’10, she has good skills at the net on both sides of the ball. Viewing her as a middle and on the right pin, she moves well in transition and laterally to defend. On the offensive side, she can swing with good purpose and drive the ball aggressively as her vision, arm speed and control combine to put good pressure on opposing defenses.

Lough’s effort for her Mintonette m.72 team is one that is relentless in her aggressiveness when hitting. At 5’10, she may not bring the same length as other middles around her, but she makes up for that with the confident and assertive swing she creates through quick middle options. By giving herself good space off the net around her setter, she creates these opportunities so she can challenge the defense well. Lough will look to build upon her 2.0 k/s and 2.0 b/m effort for Olentangy Liberty last fall. Mintonette m.72 qualified for the GJNC in the 17 American division. This group went 3-0 on day one at Summerfest this weekend.

Lough brings good physicality to the front row through her rotations. She is an aggressive attacker, especially when up in the air as she is not afraid to swing with a lot of force behind the ball. As she drives up well with both arms, she is showing big improvement in how she controls her arm based on what she sees in front of her while not compromising that aggressive swing. Defensively, she is efficient in her pursuit of the block to get closed and over fast. Mintonette m.72 opens as the top seed in Pool E.

Lough is an active middle that has been developing well into the type of middle Mintonette likes to see around their setters. She is quick in her transition movement to get off the net and track the ball well to return and be available through the tempo they run to swing soon after the ball leaves the setter’s hands. She opens her shoulders well to be able to create good pace through her swing in the air.
