Gabby was my early pick to win MVP and ended up coming in second in the end. She’s the next up in a line of dominant Middles for Metro and she’s the real deal. This is the kind of player you build a program around and who carries a team for you. St. Johns is quietly putting together a strong team out there. I should get to see them in a few weeks for a pre-season tournament and I’m looking forward to some of the new players coming in and how they are going to work them into teams. Back to Gabby, she showed huge power on the block, and good agility for getting in on the offense. The guests we had at the showcase all pretty much said, what are they feeding kids these days that there is so much size in this freshman class? They aren’t wrong with three standout middles over 6 foot. She should be in the top of the rankings next month and will be a fun one to track over the next year or so of development.

Prior to the junior national tournament Gabriella participated in the USAV Prep Dig Showcase. She was one of six middles at the event you could not ignore. Gabriella is a strong player who uses her 6’1″ height to dominate the opposition. That domination continued when she played on the local stage.

Gabriella plays for the Metro 14 Travel team. They played in the Open Division at Junior Nationals. While playing against the best in the country she proved she belonged by putting a number of balls down hard to the floor. Like Liana, Gabriella is just a couple feet shy of 10 feet with her approach jump.

Liana, Pia and Gabriella were three of the four middles to earn a spot on the Prep Dig 14 U all tournament team at Junior Nationals. It is not surprising to see them continue that excellence at the local Prep Dig Frosh Showcase.

Gabriella will compete for St. John’s College. With one of their middles transferring to Paul VI Gabriella has a good shot at making the varsity as a frosh. She showed the physical strength at the Frosh showcase to compete at that level.

6’1 Gabrielle Scott has many of the physical tools college coaches look for in a middle blocker walking into the showcase. Her size is a bonus, but it’s how she uses it that interests me most. She has continued to make her presence known at the net all season long and has displayed the ability to challenge opposing hitters. ~Theresa@prepdigdakotas

At the showcase, I’ll be watching how she reads the game and adjusts throughout matches. The best middle blockers make hitters think twice about what they are going to do, and Gabrielle has the chance to be one of those.

Gabriella was a dominant middle for Metro 14 this year. She lists a little over 6’0″ with an approach jump of close to 10 feet. She will play in Junior Nationals in the Open Division in Indianapolis.

St. Johns recently lost a middle Cairo Turner Cairo Turner 6'2" | MB St. Paul VI Catholic | 2028 State VA via a transfer to Paul VI. That opens up a position for Gabriella. She has the height and the skill level to take the starting position.
