Eliana impressed while at the USAV Prep Dig showcase. Another setter to keep an eye on. She was one of two setters who ran a 6/2 for Metro 14. Abigail Chang Abigail Chang 5'9" | S/DS/L Home School | 2030 VA was the second setter. Both played excellent defense.

Eliana will attend South County, which could make some noise this year. They appear to have two players who play for Metro National/Travel on their future roster in Sloan Tann Sloan Tann 5'8" | OH South County | 2029 State VA and another incoming frosh. Abigail lists as home schooled.

Eliana plays a little beach when not on the hard court. For the Virginia class of 2030 she ranked in the top ten.

Eliana Butler Eliana Butler 5'8" | S/RS South County | 2030 VA came to the showcase as a 2030 setter with promise and left as a Top Performer amongst some really talented players. At 5’8″, she already has the frame that makes college coaches want to track a setter early and the way she carried herself throughout the event showed maturity that did not match her class year. Her footwork getting to the pass was clean and super fast. Her sets had great location that made her hitters’ jobs so much easier. And when things did not go perfectly, she reset quickly and kept the system moving. The court coaches evaluating her throughout the day were consistent in their feedback and the leadership she showed in a group of athletes she was meeting for the first time was one of the more impressive things about her day. Please help me congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase. 

I was fortunate enough to watch Butler during warmups and she impressed me from the very beginning especially when she thought no one was paying attention. She is a true competitor by nature. She moves quickly, gets her feet to the ball quickly, and has strength to get the ball to its location. One of the things that stood out most was her ability to reverse the ball against the flow. This allowed her to isolate her attackers and creating advantages for her squad. Her skill and range were impressive for such a young player.
