Eliana also won a top performer award at the Prep Dig National showcase in Indianapolis for her setting skills. She was identified as a must see setter showing great location with her sets. This makes it easier for the hitters to put the ball away.

She runs a 6/2 for the Metro 14 team which finished 17th out of 48 teams. Eliana also has a solid beach game finishing in the top ten beach players in the Virginia class of 2030.

Last year South County finished at the bottom in a very competitive Patriot Division. Sloan Tann Sloan Tann 5'8" | OH South County | 2029 State VA started for the team as a frosh earning a spot as an honorable mention for the Patriot District all tournament team. She plays for Metro 15. Eliana as well as Jordin Guthrie Jordin Guthrie 5'11" | RS/OH South County | 2030 VA should join her on the varsity this year. This should make South County more competitive in their division. Victoria Hobson Victoria Hobson 5'4" | S/DS/L South County | 2028 State VA also returns as a setter for the team. She played for Paramount 15 Maggie last year and ranks at number 164 in our class of 2028.

With Eliana and Maggie running the offense South County should be very competetive this year.

Eliana impressed while at the USAV Prep Dig showcase. Another setter to keep an eye on. She was one of two setters who ran a 6/2 for Metro 14. Abigail Chang Abigail Chang 5'9" | S/DS/L Home School | 2030 VA was the second setter. Both played excellent defense.

Eliana will attend South County, which could make some noise this year. They appear to have two players who play for Metro National/Travel on their future roster in Sloan Tann Sloan Tann 5'8" | OH South County | 2029 State VA and another incoming frosh. Abigail lists as home schooled.

Eliana plays a little beach when not on the hard court. For the Virginia class of 2030 she ranked in the top ten.

Eliana Butler Eliana Butler 5'8" | S/RS South County | 2030 VA came to the showcase as a 2030 setter with promise and left as a Top Performer amongst some really talented players. At 5’8″, she already has the frame that makes college coaches want to track a setter early and the way she carried herself throughout the event showed maturity that did not match her class year. Her footwork getting to the pass was clean and super fast. Her sets had great location that made her hitters’ jobs so much easier. And when things did not go perfectly, she reset quickly and kept the system moving. The court coaches evaluating her throughout the day were consistent in their feedback and the leadership she showed in a group of athletes she was meeting for the first time was one of the more impressive things about her day. Please help me congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase. 

I was fortunate enough to watch Butler during warmups and she impressed me from the very beginning especially when she thought no one was paying attention. She is a true competitor by nature. She moves quickly, gets her feet to the ball quickly, and has strength to get the ball to its location. One of the things that stood out most was her ability to reverse the ball against the flow. This allowed her to isolate her attackers and creating advantages for her squad. Her skill and range were impressive for such a young player.
