About Lainey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I have a strong volleyball IQ and a keen sense for court positioning. My ability to read the opponent’s side is reflected in my precise serving placement and versatile hitting range.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I bring positive energy to every environment and genuinely enjoy connecting with my teammates both on and off the court. I’m always finding opportunities to play, with a volleyball rarely out of my hands. While I’m easygoing by nature, I become a focused and driven competitor the moment I step onto the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a WEB Leader at school. I also play on a national softball team, AAU basketball, beach volleyball, and enjoy skiing.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I bring strong leadership and a team-first mindset to every match and practice. I lead by example through consistent effort, clear communication, and a positive, composed presence under pressure. I’m a selfless player who adapts to any role needed and values trust and commitment.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In the fall, I tried out for the Farmington High School program as an 8th grader. On the second day of tryouts, I rolled my ankle and was sidelined for several weeks. It was my first injury, but I was determined to come back stronger and regain my vertical. Through my commitment to camps, clinics, individual lessons, and strength training, I was able to earn a spot on the high school team!

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m currently exploring a wide range of colleges, majors, and locations, and I’m open to different opportunities. I’m looking for a program that offers a strong balance of academics and athletics, a supportive team culture, and an environment where I can continue to grow both on and off the court.
