Lourdes Garcia, a setter/ right side for Alamo Volleyball with the size and tempo to run the net. She doe well taking the time to read the court and distribute the ball across the net for hitter success. She runs a quick and clean tempo that keeps the game running smoothly. Her footwork and transition are clear signs of intentional training. Lourdes has the ability to lead the court vocally and by example, pushing and encouraging teammates to run at the tempo she sets and maintain momentum. As she continues to develop her game, Lourdes has what it takes to play at the next level.

Lola Garcia runs an offense with a maturity that does not match her class year. The 5’7″ frame she brings to the setter position already generates a release point that creates real deception and her footwork getting to the ball was one of the cleaner things on the floor throughout the Up Next San Antonio camp. What court coaches kept noting was not just the technical quality of her sets but the decision-making behind them. She varied her set location, adjusted to off-target passes without telegraphing her intentions, and communicated with her hitters between points in a way that built trust quickly with players she had just met. The energy she brought to the gym was contagious and her sportsmanship throughout the day was exactly what the Top Performer award is designed to recognize.
