Waleskowski competes with NKYVC 16-1 Tsunami as a huge piece to their improvement and success as the season goes forward. This group was recently at the Big South NQ in the 16 Open division that resulted in a second place finish on an 8-1 overall record. Upgrading their previous USAV GJNC bid to an open-level opportunity, their only loss was in the championship match. Waleskowski continues to grow her elite potential skill foundation on both sides of the ball and in accordance with what her teammates need from her as a setter to be successful while also continuing to be highly terminal with her arm from both sides of the court.

One of the best regarding two-way potential, Waleskowski is establishing herself as an elite setter. Recently participating with the NTDP, had a good showing among some of the best young prospects around the country, commanding the court and setting with range and good connections with big arms in all locations, which can be very difficult to do when bringing athletes together for the first time for a short window of work. A key part of SUA (Cincy) this past Fall, she guided their offense through her hands (711 assists) and with her arm (152 kills) as they advanced to the DI regional semis.

Lucy is ferocious. Her footwork is great, her approach is steady, her athleticism is visible, and she is going to make you pay every time she gets her number called. She has considerable control over her swing, and awareness enables her to see and apply the proper touch on the ball for the tip, cross-court, or go line every time, if possible. It might be a power mentality, but she is good at it!

Waleskowski may be the most complete prospect in this class so far. Her dual skills as an attacker and setter are well defined this early in her prep career, to go along with good size and length for both roles. Given her skill set, it is difficult to determine which area of the game she is better right now as she can score from both pins with good heat while also distributing an offense with variety in tempo and good action against the flow. Playing for NKYVC’s top 15U team, she has helped them earn a bid to the GJNC in the 15 National division.

Waleskowski gets the nod as the top ranked 2028 prospect in Ohio to begin the rankings process for this class. She stand outs because of her two-way ability to terminate at the pins as well as distribute the offense through the setting role. For a 15U prospect, she has some tools and polish in multiple phases of the game that helps differentiate her from others in this class. With her NKYVC team last season, she was a big arm that could terminate with range and power while also shifting gears to step in and run the offense. As a setter she has size, good movement, and high contact point that will be coveted aspects for the next level as she continues to progress.
