What an opportunity to catch up with this circuit regular. I was fortunate enough to cover Burrell at our last Iowa showcase, and the terminal opposite quickly became one of our top standouts at that event. She has replicated that feat in a tournament environment, dealing out indefensible swings on the right pin. 17U Mendoza took full advantage of Burrell’s frontcourt rotations and mixed her in on combination plays, too. Find any way possible to give Burrell her share.

Burrell knows what it takes to be a showcase standout. Friday’s event wasn’t her first appearance on the Prep Dig Circuit, and I was fortunate enough to cover her exceptional outing at last year’s Top 250 Expo. The Waukee Northwest standout was an immediate standout as we worked through early warmups at Friday’s event. Burrell adapted to hitting on both pins and formed connections with whichever setter she worked with in scrimmages. This pin hitter is ready-made for showcase environments and is ready for her upperclassman tenure at Northwest.

Waukee Northwest is back in business. Burrell joins Ladwig on the list of high-impact Wolves to participate in Sunday’s showcase. We saw Burrell’s multi-pin influence as she brought plenty of heat no matter where she was swinging along the net. She will likely carry a right-side hitter role with RVA Roots , a club racking up a growing talent base in the Class of 2027.
