Let’s add to this versatility trend. Duran has shown us a lot through her early days on the Nebraska prep circuit. She first captured our attention at last year’s Bellevue West Invite, where she made assertive swings on the pin for the hosting Thunderbirds. However, Duran saw plenty of reps at middle to start her sophomore campaign, giving us flashbacks of her exceptional tenure with River City Jrs 15 Navy. That group climbed the AAU Nationals mountaintop and set Duran on a path for further success, regardless of position.

How about another multi-dimensional attacker from the River City Jrs camp? Duran got some early exposure to the Class A gauntlet last fall, leading the Bellevue West docket with 2.5 kills per set. She locked down the left side and took plenty of attacking volume in the Thunderbird frontcourt. It was an ideal prelude to Duran’s club stint with River City Jrs 15 Navy, which added additional layers to her scouting report. River City Jrs has boasted some physical opposites lately, and Duran added to that list while exhibiting her multi-pin flexibility. The move was clearly worthwhile as 15 Navy hoisted an AAU championship trophy in the 15 Elite division.

We first became acquainted with Duran’s quick arm at the season-opening Bellevue West Invite, one of Nebraska’s most demanding high school invites. This skilled freshman produced several highlight moments for the host squad and laid the foundation for an exceptional debut season. Duran finished with a team-best 2.5 kills per set and was a go-to scorer in out-of-system situations. She’ll perpetuate the iron-clad pipeline between Bellevue West and River City Jrs to kick off 2026.
