Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
We’ve had a lot to say about Nebraska Elite 17-1’s elite frontcourt talent, but let’s not forget about the libero holding things down along the end line. Schroeder has been entrenched in the team’s libero jersey since we started covering 2027s at the 15s level. That 15s season was a special time for Nebraska Elite, as Schroeder led her team to an Open championship at the Northern Lights Qualifier. So, a return to Minneapolis invariably led to more highlight-worthy moments for the Bennington defender. Schroeder’s instincts and leadership have flourished as she gains more high-level experience at USAV qualifiers.

Schroeder has been thriving on the Power League stage for a while, so her inclusion here is no surprise. We like to talk about Nebraska Elite 16 Apex’s frontcourt riches, but those players can also trust Schroeder to put them in favorable situations. The Bennington sophomore is a natural passer who can adjust her platform to balls drifting outside her midline. Schroeder has expanded her repertoire in floor defense and will prevent anything from dropping in the campfire. Another qualifier push is on the way.

Nebraska Elite 15 Revolution does not deploy many defensive specialists in its starting rotation. This puts additional pressure on Schroeder to take the lead in the backcourt, but this Bennington standout can handle the task. She tallied another spectacular outing on the national stage at AAUs, and we’re not done with the journey yet. Look out for Schroeder and 15 Revolution at USAV Nationals.

Schroeder keeps staking her claim as one of Nebraska’s top defenders in the Class of 2027. She announced her presence right away as Nebraska Elite 15 Revolution claimed its Open bid through January’s Northern Lights Qualifier. This feature is about late-season surges, of course, and Schroeder hasn’t slowed down since that early triumph. The Bennington prep star makes tough defensive plays look effortless. It’s a sign of Schroeder’s ability to read opposing attackers and fill in any seams on the court. Nebraska’s Open-qualified trio in the 15s age group will be quite a spectacle at GJNC.

Bennington High School was not afraid to mix up its lineups in 2023, and Schroeder was part of that equation at the DS position. The Badgers primarily used Schroeder as a middle-back defender, and the freshman looked incredibly comfortable in such an important role. And, like many Bennington prep athletes, Schroeder is gearing up to make a big splash in the club season. Her destination is Nebraska Elite, which has some big goals to chase at the 15s level.
