We just kicked off our look at the new Nebraska 2025 rankings with a spotlight on several new additions to our latest list. Of course, we added so many 2025s that we needed to split these features into two parts. Time to finish the conversation.
Here’s Part 2 of our fresh faces on Nebraska’s leaderboard for the Class of 2025!
While Clarkson/Leigh’s frontcourt hitters get a lot of the hype, Hollatz’s steady leadership at the setter spot cannot be overlooked. The sophomore standout piled up nearly 1,000 assists this fall en route to yet another state tournament appearance for the Patriots. Expect a similarly successful 2023 with nearly the entire Clarkson/Leigh roster returning.
2022 was Wambold’s time to take the reins of Centennial’s offense. Consider the transition a success. Wambold dished out nearly nine assists per set for the Broncos and was equally effective as a right-back defender.
Carlstrom is quickly becoming a setter to watch from the small-town Nebraska scene. She represented High Plains Community well this fall and recently showcased her skills at our Top 250 Expo in La Vista.
Highlights
Chvatal is another name who recently landed on my radar after competing in our Nebraska expo. This Omaha Concordia pin hitter can easily adapt to a variety of on-court roles, and that versatility stood out in our annual showcase.
Highlights
We’ve put a lot of Seward athletes under the microscope lately after the Bluejays made their first state tournament appearance in five years. Covalt is one we have yet to discuss, though, and it’s hard to understate her positive impact on this postseason run. The sophomore anchored the team’s backcourt and was also a valuable asset as Seward’s out-of-system setter.
Highlights
Emery took over as Bellevue West’s starting setter this year and did an exceptional job in this expanded role. She compiled well over eight assists per set for the Thunderbirds and found an increasingly solid rhythm with her hitters as the season progressed. That’s a good launching point for Emery to have another standout season.
Adams Central has recently become a regular sight on the postseason stage, and Feeney had an important say in keeping the Patriots near the top this fall. Her all-around skills were on full display as Adams Central surged ahead to Lincoln behind Feeney’s savvy distribution and consistent location.
Highlights
Henn is fresh off a solid performance at our Top 250 Nebraska Expo and had a breakout sophomore campaign with Elgin/Pope John. Eclipsing three kills per set this fall has put Henn in some distinguished company among her 2025 peers.
Like a few of the players on this feature, Holt has joined the 2025 fray after standing out in our Nebraska showcase. More than that, though, Holt proved she can take on a featured attacking role when she competed with Loomis this year.
Ketteler has helped place Stuart firmly on Nebraska’s prep volleyball map. After sharing the setting duties for Stuart in this year’s successful postseason campaign, Ketteler is well-positioned to take over the offense entirely in 2023.
Get ready for a few of Bennington’s underclassmen to make some noise on the big stage. This year’s state tournament triumph was a big one for the Badgers, and Liebsack will play a crucial role in helping her team repeat that success in 2023.
Highlights
We’ll surely have a lot more to say about Marroquin’s backcourt impact when she competes with Premier Nebraska in the upcoming club season. But this Bellevue East athlete has already proven her prowess with a strong showing at this month’s Nebraska Expo.
Morgan appears on our newest 2025 watch list after compiling nearly six digs per set with Wood River this fall. Her value on serve receive should not be forgotten, either, and we can reasonably expect a big step forward from the Eagles next year.
Diller-Odell will be a fascinating program to follow next season as rising talents like Vilda shoulder bigger frontcourt responsibilities. This agile middle blocker placed second in the kill category for the Griffins and has enough heat behind her swings to succeed in just about any front-row position.
Omaha Marian has such a solid 2025 class to lead the history-rich volleyball program into future seasons. Vlasek is one of those sophomores to watch heading into the new year, and she has already carried a major backcourt role with the Crusaders to help the team back to the postseason.
West is not the only Wausa pin hitter making a climb on our latest rankings updates, so keep an eye on this program next fall. This sophomore ranked third on the Vikings roster in kills this season and did it on an impressive 0.250 clip.
