Athletes from across the Cornhusker State elevated their game throughout 2022, and these stock riser features how to capture some of that growth and development. 2025s are in a prime position in their prep careers to make huge strides and change any prior perceptions we had. They still have a couple more years of prep competition left to play out, too.
For now, here are a few names who climbed in our latest Nebraska 2025 rankings update.
Heaney just keeps getting it done on the outside. Elkhorn North knew when to lean on their sophomore left-side hitter this year, and Heaney promptly delivered in clutch moments to help the Wolves to a state title match appearance.
We’ve documented Heckenlively’s change from middle blocker to outside hitter from Gretna, and this new scenery hasn’t stopped the electrifying sophomore from developing into a dominant force. She was most recently a standout attacker at our Nebraska Top 250 Expo, and she appears primed for another huge season with Premier Nebraska.
No surprises here: a huge boost in the rankings for this year’s kills leader in Nebraska’s sophomore class. Dalton was spectacular with Nebraska Elite in the spring, but she reached yet another gear when she took the floor with Fremont in the fall. Not only did Dalton tally over 500 kills to lead all 2025s, but she also shouldered a six-rotation role like few underclassmen can.
Kamery’s do-it-all mentality took another step forward with Minden this fall. Her unique role as a frontcourt left-side hitter and a backcourt setter helps bring Kamery’s best skills to the forefront, and that yielded a special 2022 season for the Whippets.

Hart just keeps climbing. She rose to prominence in the Gretna lineup this fall and finished with an impressive 0.348 hitting percentage on over two kills per set. This follows a rapid trend of growth for Hart after she impressed us at Premier Nebraska during the club season.

Solomon’s readiness for elite prep competition was a critical factor in Papillion-La Vista South’s journey to a second-consecutive state championship. After this athletic setter produced a wealth of highlight moments with Premier Nebraska in the spring, it was little surprise that Solomon was clutch for the Titans on the high school side.
Few players in Nebraska’s 2025 class define “stock riser” more than Venable. She exploded onto the Nebraska prep scene with Lincoln Pius X this fall and hammered 270 kills on a searing .401 hitting percentage. Then, Venable showed us these numbers were no fluke when excelled at our Top 250 Expo in La Vista. The best may still be yet to come as this middle blocker prepares to compete with VCNebraska.
Banker stepped right into the Skutt Catholic lineup this season and did not show any of the stress that might come with competing for a multi-year defending champion. This underclassman displayed a knack for putting her hitters in good spots and had a huge influence in completing the SkyHawk eight-peat.
Cambridge had an enviable collection of attacking phenoms this year, and Johnson was right in the middle of that bunch. She easily eclipsed 200 kills as a sophomore, and that helped the Trojans make yet another appearance in the Class D1 bracket.
O’Hare is one of several players that embody the youthful renaissance happening at Gothenburg. The Swedes made their first-ever appearance in a state title match this fall, and O’Hare had big say in that accomplishment with her dominance in the frontcourt.
It has been quite a year of new horizons for Baker, who joined the fray at Millard West this fall and made an immediate impact at middle blocker. Her physicality and high-energy play fit right in with the Wildcats, and the same will be true with Nebraska Elite during the club season.
Let’s use this as an opportunity to recall Odvody’s vital role in the Omaha Westside lineup this fall. When the Warriors experienced a rash of injuries at the middle blocker spot, Odvody was there to fill in the gaps and did so admirably. This middle blocker is an unsung hero of Westside’s run to the Class A championship match.
Waido has been leading the Wahoo offense since her freshman debut in 2021, and the talented underclassman setter has kept improving since then. VCNebraska has a habit of producing great setter talent, and I’ll be fascinated to see Waido perform with 16 Black this spring.
This month’s Nebraska Top 250 Expo provided a good reminder of what Anderson is capable of. She has a great feel for tempo and location, making her an ideal future setting option for Omaha Skutt Catholic.
Fast brings a bit of River City Jrs representation into this stock riser feature. The dynamic setter hopes to carry positive momentum into the club season after having a standout sophomore season with Elkhorn.
Goes has been piling up the stats in the Freeman backcourt lately, landing her a spot on our stock riser feature. After tallying nearly five kills per set for the Falcons this fall, Goes will remain a player to watch as embarks on another season with Nebraska Juniors.

Aurora has a decorated history of standout defensive specialists, and you can add Ashby to that growing list. She was one of Nebraska’s most productive sophomore defenders this fall and was equally impactful in Aurora’s serve receive patterns. Ashby made the trip down to Kansas City for our showcase event at Dynasty Volleyball Academy, and her skills shone among a large group of Kansas and Missouri athletes.
Hern’s rise up the 2025 leaderboards is only just getting started. The Omaha Marian opposite hit for an impressive percentage with the Crusaders and will likely do the same with Nebraska Juniors this spring. Our perception of Nebraska’s 2025 hitters continues to evolve, and Hern is a good example of this ever-changing landscape.
Hofer is well-positioned to carry on the long tradition of talented Fremont liberos. She recently stood out at our Nebraska Top 250 Expo and has a chance to keep up this strong stretch with Club Legacy.
This isn’t the first time we’ve mentioned some up-and-coming Diller-Odell talent in the wake of our 2025 update. Weers tallied over 150 kills from the middle blocker spot as the Griffins returned to their rightful place at the state tournament. Diller-Odell will lean on Weers even more next season.
Braithwaite has climbed in our latest rankings update and has a chance to ascend even further in 2023. The Elkhorn South athlete will take her talents to Club Legacy this spring, where her seasoned backcourt skills will be on full display.
