These passing phenoms and masters of defense have propelled their club teams to early-season success, providing the energy and passion needed to stoke the fire for their squads. Here are eight sensational liberos working hard as the club season rolls into its second full month.
The dynamic class of 2026 libero is playing for a very competitive Dakine Surf 17 team that has national-level hopes this season. The 2026 prospect has a calm demeanor on the court, there is no panic in the freshman’s game when the stakes are high. She has a superior ability to angle her platform to put passes right on her setter, and an advanced read on her hitters across the net. Dakine 17 will be headed to the Presidents Day Classic in St. Louis on Feb 18th-20th.
Leading the backline for OJVA-17, Reiter is locked in and was passing nails at the Matt Hartner Memorial in Eugene. The Oregon Juniors 17 team is headed for the Triple Crown NIT in Kansas City over Presidents Day Weekend, a rugged invite-only tournament. Reiter can make game-changing plays all over the court, it’s never going to be easy to put the ball away for OJVA opponents. The Camas star is teaming with Sydney Dreves from Columbia River among others on this outstanding squad.

Coming off a state championship run with the Lakeside Lions, Gao is part of a talented WVBA 16 Adidas team this club season. In two weekends of play so far the team has posted an 11-2 mark, Gao is the primary libero and covers an immense amount of ground defensively. Her excellent passing in serve receive has been crucial, allowing the WVBA team to run a fast tempo in system offense. Her serve was diving hard to the left watching the NWPL in Lynwood, and passers had to make some big adjustments to try and keep it in play. Gao and her teammates will travel to Aurora, Illinois for the SPVB Presidents Day Challenge, where they will compete in the Open division.

Bravo Woo is headed to Pomona-Pitzer (Claremont, CA) next season to compete for the Sagehens in the SCIAC. The Sagehens are getting a rock-solid passer who showed at the Matt Hartner tournament that no matter how much heat a server has, she can deliver a pass to set up the offense. Her NPJ 17 Seattle National team is headed to Kansas City for the Triple Crown tournament in February.
The Kahuia 16 Navy team played well at the Northwest Power League’s first weekend in Lynwood, moving from the bronze to the silver division with a 4-1 record. Berry is tough and skilled, an excellent beach player with all the skills and fire you want from the libero spot. She is versatile and played in the setter spot at times for Wenatchee during the school season, you can see her excellent hands when she steps in to set the second ball. Her fundamentals and technical work with her platform are outstanding, and this season her decisiveness and movement is through the roof. Joswick ran the libero spot all season for Central Valley, and garnered all-league honorable mention honors. On the taller side for a libero at a full 5’7, Zeissel has good range and it’s difficult to drop shots to the corner over her. She has excelled in the libero role for SVA, and the team has followed with an impressive start to the season so far. At the Matt Hartner tournament, you could see her take-charge attitude, on a strong team she is not afraid to take a leading role when needed. Next for SVA 16 is the NW Juniors Presidents Weekend, then a trip to Vegas follows for the Red Rock Rave.
