The incredible class of 2024 will be heading into their final club season, and many of the athletes who have not yet committed to a program will be actively and tirelessly pursuing this final recruiting period. We are looking forward to seeing where many of the 2024 athletes highlighted below – those who are currently uncommitted, playing in this club season, and are ranked within the top 50 for their class – commit to playing for the next four years.
Arnett, the 5A Mid-Willamette Conference Co-Player of the Year, has been so exciting to watch over the past few years, bringing a high level of play every time she steps on the court. A six-rotation outside hitter, Arnett is skilled in every aspect of the game, using her quick and powerful arm swing to bury the ball from the left pin and passing dimes on defense and serve receive. Playing for the impressive and stacked NPJ Forefront team this club season, Arnett will continue to compete at the highest level in the region.
Nguyen is an incredibly versatile player. The 6A Three Rivers League First-Team recipient is an excellent back row athlete, and she commanded the court as the St. Mary’s libero this past fall. On serve receive, Nguyen tracks challenging serves well. On defense, she is quick to react, which helps her make effortless plays. Not only is Nguyen an excellent defensive player, but she also has beautiful hands and can set when needed. Playing for OJVA 18-1 this season, Nguyen will be an asset to her team no matter what position she’s playing.
Highlights
Middle blocker Robertson is a dominating force at the net, and after her final season with Sheldon this fall, she earned 6A Southwest Conference First-Team honors. The 6’0” attacker showcases a dynamic arsenal of shots, swinging to the corners with ease and making smart tips to score. Robertson is also very quick on transition, which allows her to get up high after putting up a block to bury the ball. Robertson will certainly be an offensive go-to on the Webfoot 18-1 team this season.
Setter and 6A Southwest Conference First-Team recipient Lewey did a standout job running Sheldon’s offense for her final high school season this past fall. Standing at 6’0”, Lewey brings some height to the position, which proves beneficial for her when she’s in the front row and can dominate both offensively and defensively at the net. With a soft touch on the ball and excellent placement, too, Lewey is a top notch setter and brings a lot of skill to the court. We look forward to seeing her help lead the Webfoot 18-1 offense this season.
Williams is a high level setter and an all-around solid player, earning 6A Mt. Hood Conference First-Team accolades after running a fast offense for Central Catholic this fall. Williams has beautiful hands and great footwork, both of which she uses well to get to the ball and place her sets perfectly, often pushing the ball from pin to pin. The lefty is also a strong offensive player from the right side, and can easily pound the ball on two. Playing for Athena 18-1 this season, Williams will likely take a big part in running her team’s offense.
Highlights
Outside hitter and setter Pappas, a 1A All-State First-Team recipient and Skyline League Player of the Year for her excellent play for Umpqua Valley Christian this fall, is an athletic, versatile player. Pappas has great court vision, which she uses well when setting to make smart plays on two or set against the block, and which she uses to put the ball into open court when attacking. Pappas also has beautiful hands and places her sets well. She will be fun to watch on the NPJ Salem 18 National team this season.
Highlights
Williams is a powerful pin hitter with a heavy arm, a super quick arm swing, and an insanely explosive approach. The attacker made the 6A Metro First Team after her final season with Jesuit, thanks to her ability to frequently and consistently obliterate the ball from the outside. Williams jumps high and sees the court well, putting up a big block and hitting offspeed shots to open court when needed to score. Williams is playing for Athena 18-1 this season, and she will certainly be one of the team’s offensive weapons.
King, an outside hitter and 3A Eastern Oregon Conference First-Team recipient for her play at Burns this past fall, is a solid all-around athlete. In the back row, King is steady on defense and serve receive, using her excellent control and technique to put up great passes. Perhaps most impressively, King brings her quick arm swing and versatile attacking arsenal to the front row pins, where she manages to put the ball away consistently. King will be a huge attribute for her COVC team this season.
Pin hitter McKibben is a scrappy and athletic player, who brought a lot of energy to the court for Sheldon this past season, earning 6A Southwest Conference Second-Team honors. McKibben utilizes an explosive approach and smart placements to put the ball down, even when facing large blocks. Out of system, she is controlled and able to put the ball into open court with her arsenal of shots. Although McKibben is a little undersized on the pins, she is nevertheless a solid attacker from any position on the court.
