They won their first four matches to finish fourth after being seeded 11th out of 16 teams in a loaded event. Mount Vernon entered Nebraska after going 3-0 against the host, Bondurant-Farrar and Mid-Prairie at the Pella Quad last week. Davenport Assumption (3-1):</strong> It was a quiet schedule for the Knights in Week 1. They defeated Davenport West, Dubuque Senior and Western Dubuque at Thursday's MAC-MVC Challenge before falling to Dubuque Hempstead. Senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='215761' first='Ellie' last='Schubert'] handed out 78 assists to go with 13 digs, eight kills and 4.0 blocks. Western Christian (0-5):</strong> As we've mentioned before, ranking the Wolfpack can be tricky. Don't let the 0-5 record fool you. It plays a tough schedule, including this past weekend, joining Mount Vernon at the Bellevue tournament. Unlike the Mustangs, Western did not face any Iowa competition in Week 1. Des Moines Christian (4-0):</strong> The Lions ran the table at least week's ADM tournament, beating the host along with Harlan and Woodward-Granger. Dubuque Wahlert (1-0): </strong>The Golden Eagles also enjoyed a light week of competition. There was a 3-0 MVC victory against Cedar Rapids Jefferson Tuesday in their lone match. Mid-Prairie</strong> <strong>(7-2): </strong>It was a strong opening week for a Golden Hawk outfit with big dreams. Their losses came against Mount Vernon and at 4A Pella. They claimed victories against Burlington (2), Bondurant-Farrar, Durant, Centerville, West Burlington and Keokuk. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='215395' first='Dakota' last='Mitchell'] had 92 digs. Setters [player_tooltip player_id='215390' first='Jovi' last='Evans'] and [player_tooltip player_id='775157' first='Jeorgia' last='Evans'] ran the show, delivering kills and holding up well in the back row.
