<p>The high school volleyball season continues to progress at full pace in Texas as district play is underway for teams all around the Lone Star State as we approach the decisive moments before the start of the postseason. </p>

<p>With just a few more weeks of district play, every match matters and there will be quite a few key ones all around Texas on Tuesday, October 22. We picked three of them to feature as you prepare for an intense day of high school action in Texas:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Centennial vs. Joshua - 6:30 PM @ Centennial HS</h2>

<p>Starting in the Dallas area, we'll have the duel between the top two teams in District 99, the Centennial Spartans and the Joshua Owls. Centennial have been solid all season, amassing 32 wins and just seven losses, and are the top team in the district with an undefeated campaign of 11 victories. Some of their stars are senior middles Ne'khaela Rogers (264 kills, 78 blocks) and Brylee Stevens (194 kills, 71 blocks), senior outside hitter Kennedy Smith-Johnson (262 kills, 306 digs, 417 passes, 34 blocks), senior setter/right side [player_tooltip player_id='375116' first='Paityn' last='Winters'] (609 assists, 198 kills, 313 digs, 55 aces) and senior libero Kallie Connelly (436 digs, 495 passes).</p>

<p>Joshua have a positive record of 25 wins and 13 losses for the season and are second in the district, with nine wins and one loss. Leading the team's efforts this season are senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='201502' first='Morgan' last='Collier'] (346 kills, 115 blocks, 45 aces), junior middle [player_tooltip player_id='433614' first='Natalia' last='Belisle'] (307 kills, 63 blocks), sophomore setter [player_tooltip player_id='484377' first='Braedyn' last='Holland'] (915 assists, 331 digs, 40 aces), senior libero Tyler Pool (583 digs, 513 passes, 53 aces) and junior outside hitter Ava Abbott (166 kills, 74 digs, 98 passes).</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Shadow Creek vs. Pearland - 6:30 PM @ Shadow Creek HS</h2>

<p>In Houston, the Shadow Creek Sharks and the Pearland Oilers will meet in an exciting duel for the top spot in District 22. Shadow Creek currently appear in second place with 11 wins and two losses and have a 30-9 win record for the season. The team has several individual standouts, including senior middle/outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='212731' first='Mackenzie' last='Collins'] (457 kills, 146 digs, 174 passes, 36 aces), sophomore right side [player_tooltip player_id='534319' first='Aspen' last='Brown'] (232 kills, 37 blocks), sophomore outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='459664' first='Tamarria' last='Mitchell'] (227 kills, 108 passes), junior setter Bella Law (909 assists, 273 digs, 62 aces) and junior libero [player_tooltip player_id='318194' first='Lauryn' last='Wiley'] (325 digs, 256 passes, 20 aces).</p>

<p>Pearland are the top team in the district with 13 wins and just one loss and hold an impressive season record of 35 victories and five defeats. Junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='254073' first='Avery' last='Koonsen'] (436 kills, 261 digs, 475 passes), senior middle [player_tooltip player_id='212737' first='Kimanni' last='Rugley'] (308 kills, 116 blocks), senior setter Cora Wolford (597 assists, 218 digs, 40 aces), senior libero Adrienne Enriquez (307 digs, 489 passes, 38 aces) and sophomore outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='443013' first='Britney' last='Solomon'] (194 kills, 219 digs) are all having massive roles in the team's success.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Amarillo vs. Monterey - 7:00 PM @ Amarillo HS</h2>

<p>In the Amarillo region, the District 3 standings could be affected by the meeting between the Amarillo Sandies and the Monterey Plainsmen. With 33 wins and six losses in the season and a perfect district campaign of 14 victories, Amarillo are guaranteed in the playoffs. The team has been relying a lot on senior outside hitter Sienna Cavalier (402 kills, 242 digs, 192 passes), junior outside hitter Kinsler Hanson (153 kills, 41 digs), junior setter Bennett Rea (508 assists, 183 digs, 28 aces), junior libero Ella Head (352 digs, 252 passes, 62 aces) and senior setter/right side Payton Cash (402 assists, 131 kills, 160 digs, 37 aces) to overcome their opponents.</p>

<p>With 20 wins and 18 losses for the season, Monterey are currently in fifth place in the district with seven victories and six defeats and need to triumph to improve their situation. Senior outside hitter Anastyn Greaser (304 kills, 80 digs, 142 passes, 40 aces), junior middle Ari Johnson (180 kills, 60 blocks), sophomore middle Olivia Pearce (159 kills, 28 blocks), junior setter Emerson Satterfield (758 assists, 247 digs, 55 aces) and junior libero Maddison Dewbre (607 digs, 397 passes, 39 aces) are some of their key players.</p>
