The Omaha Gross Catholic standout used the block to her advantage while also mixing in effective roll shots into the campfire. The Midwest Power League reminded us that 17 Navy can deploy several unique lineups and keep winning. Premier Nebraska 17 Gold finds any way to get their star opposite involved in the offense, which often involves routing White in front of the setter. The Omaha Skutt Catholic junior hits the inside '2' ball as well as any opposite in Nebraska's 2026 class. We've seen this Elkhorn South product pilot the offense as a backcourt setter, but Rauner's right-side attacking took precedence at Sunday's event. The Norfolk High School athlete is part of a new wave of talent joining a group that clinched an Open bid last spring. Whenever 16 Apex needed a clutch kill at Sunday's event, a high ball to Carmichael on the left side often did the trick. The Omaha Westside prep athlete connected well with her setters and was not afraid to swing away on any ball. The Central City native has put up big numbers on the high school stage, and her reign continues with Nebraska Juniors 16 Black. She is a true 'L1' who can find ways to score on either pin in any rotation. Homolka can bounce the ball straight down, but her high-hands shots are equally effective. This "dream team" rode its left sides to a 17 Open championship at the Midwest Power League, and Schmidt was a major piece of that puzzle. The Lincoln Southeast sophomore showcased her range by cutting inside the block or carving down the line. Schmidt can also handle a variety of tempos, allowing her to capitalize on open seams on the outside. Cada was extraordinarily effective at [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Elite's outside hitter spot, even as she was tasked with cleaning up several scramble plays. This small-town star was among Nebraska's most prolific freshman scorers in her debut season with Bishop Neumann.
