This morning Prep Dig published the updated rankings for the Class of 2027.

The rankings for this class now include 220 total athletes.

There was quite a bit of movement in the Top 10 during this update. Each of these athletes are deserving of their flowers and have bright futures ahead of them.

[player_tooltip player_id='436201' first='Riley' last='Riggs'], 6'0”, OH, Mill Valley

Riggs moves into the top-spot in the rankings. She was previously ranked No. 3 overall. Riggs already has over 700 kills in two seasons with the Jaguars. Mill Valley is not an easy program for underclassmen to break the lineup, so that says a ton right there. Riggs has had a solid club season and has a strong presence on social media giving her recruitment a solid foundation.

[player_tooltip player_id='480408' first='Tinley' last='Wilson'], 5'10”, OH, Holton

Wilson is a dynamic elevator who moved up to the No. 2 position after being ranked No. 4 overall. She is one of four prospects in the Top Ten from smallish schools. She recorded 444 kills as a sophomore and can play six rotations. Playing elite club ball as helped her get noticed. If she played for a Class 6A school she would have already garnered a lot more attention. The Wildcat also posted 369 digs on her sophomore stat line.

[player_tooltip player_id='480396' first='Peyton' last='Kubik'], 6'2”, OH/RS, Blue Valley West

Kubik is a powerful attacker now ranked No. 3 overall. She is playing for the 19U United State Development Team. Kubik is one of the tallest athletes in the Top Ten. She plays elite club ball and for a prep team that is always a threat to win a state title. She is well coached and will be a solid Division I Product. She has recorded back-to-back seasons of 400-plus kills in her first two prep seasons.

[player_tooltip player_id='434374' first='Kya' last='Behr'], 5'10”, S, Great Bend

The top-ranked setter in the Kansas Class of 2027 is Great Bend's Behr. She is ranked No. 4 overall. Behr is the highest ranked athlete from the Western Half of Kansas. She recorded 829 assists and 211 kills as a sophomore. She has a ton of bounce in her game and can elevate with the best setters. She has excellent instincts. I feel she is a Division I setter all-day, but she will have a long line of Division II and JUCO coaches wanting to add her skills to their programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='480405' first='Brooke' last='Parham'], 5'9”, OH, Andover

Parham jumps into the Top Five after being ranked No. 7 overall. She is the highest-ranked athlete from the Wichita Area. She is a physical middle that I saw play in summer action with her prep team and during the high school season. She has strong blocking skills and can adjust on the fly with her approach.

[player_tooltip player_id='483915' first='Isabella' last='(Bella) Cook'], 6'2”, MB, Maize South

Maize South's Cook is ranked No. 6 overall. She recorded 215 kills and 80 blocks in 88 sets for the Mavericks. She is arguably the best blocker in the Class of 2027 and does it against top competition. She is a high-energy athlete who steps on in clutch situations for Maize South. She also plays for an elite club program which will help with her recruitment.

[player_tooltip player_id='483894' first='Sofia' last='Simic'], 6'0”, OH, Hoisington

Statistically, Simic led the Sunflower State in kills last prep season. She is ranked No. 7 overall and recorded 729 kills last season. She has a solid approach and crushes the ball with authority. She is another small school prospect in the rankings. She had an impressive state tournament and has a solid chance to reach the state tournament two more years to come.

[player_tooltip player_id='516246' first='Quincy' last='Cook'], 5'11”, MB, Santa Fe Trail

Cook is a fiery middle ranked No. 8 overall. She moved into the Top 10 for the first time after previously being ranked No. 16. She made the tough choice to not play basketball last season to focus on volleyball. I will always advocate for high school athletes to play multiple sports, but will also always support athletes who commit to the sport they think will provide them the best opportunities in the future. Cook's kill totals increased last prep season, but her total number of blocks declined. Improving her blocking skills could well determine which level of college coaches she gets the most interest from.

[player_tooltip player_id='621307' first='Emersyn' last='Ripley'], 6'1”, MB, Wichita Homeschool

Ripley also moves into the Top 10 for the first time at No. 9 overall. She was previously ranked No. 12 overall. Ripley will have the toughest job to stay in the top end of the rankings. Her numbers don't lie; she had 329 kills and 99 blocks last prep season. She plays with an elite club team which helps her stock as she does not face the toughest prep competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='445976' first='Reese' last='Maslowski'], 5'10”, OH/DS, Blue Valley North

Maslowski remains ranked No. 10 overall. The Blue Valley North prospect is in a similar situation as Riggs. Blue Valley North is not an easy program for an underclassman to make the varsity team. She finished with 148 kills as a sophomore, while recording 132 as a freshman. She has continued to improve her defensive skills and is all set to post a solid junior season for the Mustangs.
