Stock Up Top Performers

She stood out immediately for her vocal leadership on the floor. She showed many tremendous skill sets and showed she can play on either pin at the next level. Her swing and ability to find the floor were on display in morning drills and match action. She also showed the ability to go on runs behind the service line. She was one I saw have good placement on her slides and successful timing with her middles on quick back sets. Besides that, she looked comfortable sending the ball across the court to her pins, who were able to score points off her sets. She was one of the steadier defenders regarding hard balls hit her way. Not only did she stand in front of them, but she also sent them to the setter in a location that allowed them to still have multiple options for the set. Her play in serve receive was also solid. The surprise was her move to setter in later drills. She had moments where she was dominant and unstoppable on offense when things were flowing perfectly. She showed off an effective slide but produced a lot of damage on swings from both pins. She showcased her ability to move out to the pin if needed. She has had a dominant high school career in small-town Missouri, but I learned immediately that her game is destined for the next level. I could see the improved footwork on transitioning from her high school season, as well as her jumping ability. She has a ton of shots in her toolkit and can bring the power, while adding some finesse. The most impressive and strongest improvement I saw was her back row play. She is a player who has already shown she's a high-caliber player with a top 40 ranking in the class. That ranking will improve after her performance. She was very effective in the middle and displayed a lively arm to go with great court vision. Her ability to go thumb up or down to find open zones was next level in drill work on court 3. She was vocal in the back row and one of the top passers in the gym. She produced a solid platform in the passing game and made it easy for the setter to dish the ball. She was one of the smallest players in the gym but displayed a lot of heart and grit. Like other defenders mentioned, she stood in front of some heat and still got the ball to the setter in a good position to make plays. Her handling of second balls, I thought, was a highlight as she dished some solid balls for attackers to get good swings from. Heinrich can also be a weapon behind the service line with her aggressive serve that drops right as it approaches the passer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
