Ten Athletes We’re Excited to See at Nebraska Stock Up Showcase

Nebraska athletes always bring their best to this annual summer swing, and we get a perfect bridge to the fast-approaching high school season. It's all coming together for a big day in La Vista.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Freshman Showcase will be a journey into the unknown, but the Stock Up Showcase allows us to reconnect with some familiar faces. Monjarez-Palermo has distinguished herself as one of Club Legacy's top defenders and gained a ton of high-level experience on the qualifier circuit. AAU Nationals provided another pressure test for Monjarez-Palermo, and her squad capitalized with a Gold bracket trip on the event's final day. The Millard North junior had an efficient campaign with the Mustangs last fall and had a similar impact with Banzai VBC 17 Select. Even while playing up an age group, Marin soared over opposing blockers and delivered in-system dominance for her Banzai squad. Wilkens commanded a major role for Kearney Elite 16-1 while the team racked up a heap of wins on the regional circuit. She's a six-rotation mainstay who always remains active when she rotates in the back row. Bartek fits that mold perfectly and was a versatile signal-caller for Nebraska Juniors 16 Red. She distributed well in three-hitter rotations and often became a right-side attacker after rotating into the frontcourt. Sanmann was the "glue" to Nebraska Elite 16 Surge's operation and exhibited any skill you could ask of an outside hitter. She was the team's leading out-of-system terminator and dished out clutch passes from the middle-back area. Liekhus delivered several late-season highlights for [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Black and is a classic middle-opposite change-up attacker. Wiig brought head-turning length to Nebraska Elite 15 Titanium's lineup and oscillated between the middle blocker and opposite positions. She can shut down high-flying hitters with her block and has rapidly improved her footwork as a transition attacker. We got an early introduction to Taylor's game when she competed up a couple of age groups with Premier Nebraska 17 Silver. She slotted into one of the team's right-side hitter spots and added plenty of firepower to the team's unique lineup.
