A staple in the state playoff chase every year, This Trailblazer squad is no different. They have some serious heat throughout their entire roster and are led by a four-headed junior beast! [player_tooltip player_id='545313' first='Hanna' last='McGinest'] is having one heck of a junior season on the pins as she leads the team in kills early this year. One of the main reasons her kill total is so high is due to how efficient she has been. Currently her hitting percentage is a super impressive .360 and she is not looking to slow down any time soon. She has some explosive teammates who are adding to the firepower. [player_tooltip player_id='545258' first='Evangeline' last='Jeffries'] is a long and highly skilled scorer. Eva is killing the ball at a .327 clip right now and due to her long reach and high vertical, I am not sure if anyone will be able to stop her completely. Most teams only have one or two stars and a whole bunch of role players, but not Sierra Canyon. [player_tooltip player_id='475609' first='McKenna' last='McIntosh'] is a super stud junior who would be the go to player on any other squad. The six-foot one left side can flat out throttle the ball with the best of them. Oh you want more stars? Look no further than Miss [player_tooltip player_id='338908' first='Lucky' last='Fasavalu'] who we have written many articles on since she was an eighth grader. The all-world phenom can quite literally do it all on the court. She is a very talented setter and a threat to kill the ball from anywhere. These four juniors know each other very well and are playing amazing as a team. No wonder they have this team sitting at a wonderful 10-2 overall record. Senior libero Madeleine "Maddie" Zaragoza is handling some business in the back row and leads the team in digs. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='480605' first='Kalyani' last='Olive'] has been a great wall at the net as she is leading the team in overall blocks. With solid upperclassmen leadership and experience, this squad is living up to the hype that most publications are giving them. We will be watching their journey closely and covering every kill. Stay tuned for more.

Clovis Cougars

Another senior led squad has been mowing through their schedule and currently sit at 10-2 overall. Junior outside [player_tooltip player_id='808081' first='Lyla' last='Rose'] is as skilled as they come and leads the team in kills so far. She has some help in seniors [player_tooltip player_id='505574' first='Malia' last='Baker'], [player_tooltip player_id='828119' first='Nicole' last='Ndole'] and [player_tooltip player_id='846113' first='Emily' last='Pruett']. These three seniors have been together for quite a while and want to end their high school career in winning fashion. So far this year, they have been cashing in on their experience well. Miss Rose is making sure that these seniors go out on top. She currently is killing the ball with a very efficient .248 hitting percentage. The ship is being steered by two other awesome senior setters who know exactly where each attacker wants the ball. Lindsey Schneider and Reina Dvorak are dishing the rock so well and both only have a handful of ball handling errors all season long. Their hands are smooth and their experience of playing with each other for the past three years is really coming into play while they compete at a high level. Another senior who has been proving her worth is libero [player_tooltip player_id='809325' first='Jocelyn' last='Yang']. The back row has been very stable thanks to her defense. She is also helping to make sure that they stay in system with her serve receive. You can tell that this team has some great chemistry and know their roles well. Head coach Richard Lake must love having the experience of upperclassmen leading the charge. We will be following their journey and see if they can sustain their winning ways.
