Prep Dig Texas was in attendance on Friday, when we got to watch each of the 23 teams in action and follow the development of the first day of matches. We were able to identify several players with incredible potential during the day and are now featuring them. This time, we'll turn our attention to the liberos who commanded the backcourt with incredible efficiency.

Nesloney led the backcourt efforts of the John Cooper team that tied for third with a campaign of four wins and one loss. The sophomore's quickness was probably her most impressive skill during the day as, on several occasions, she would come out of nowhere to get to the ball and make the first contact. Nesloney was very aware of her role as a libero and used that ability to step in front of her teammates to pass or handle a free ball, freeing them up to focus on offense. The libero was also very clean every time she made contact with the ball, passing dimes and performing high-level defensive actions.

Haecker was the starting libero for the St. Agnes Academy team that ranked fifth after getting three wins and two losses. Very calm and consistent, she provided a great deal of stability to her team, quietly getting the job done at a very high level on the backcourt. The senior was always where she had to be, which led her to make many complicated digs look easier. Haecker was very accurate with her passing, made several stops when playing defense and demonstrated good quality to set in transition, on many occasions using her hands to do it.

Kyle represented the St. Pius X team that ended up in tenth place with three wins and three losses. The sophomore displayed great positioning on the backcourt and got many touches on defense, generating numerous transition opportunities for her team. Kyle was very quick to react to play and, on some occasions, sprinted off the court to chase shanked passes or digs, successfully keeping the ball in play. The libero also served very well, going on some nice runs from the service line, and was very disciplined when covering her hitters.

Wilson and her Bay Area Christian team finished 11th in the tournament, with a campaign of two wins and three losses. The sophomore was a stud on the backcourt for her team, displaying strong technical skills to perform her duties at a very high level on the backcourt. Wilson covered a sizable chunk of the court in serve-receive and was very accurate with her deliveries, displaying great consistency throughout matches. The libero also played solid defense and served efficiently, doing a good job of getting her opponents uncomfortable with her floaters.

Keracik played for the Houston Christian team that ranked 13th in the tournament with a win and three losses. A tall libero, she used her length very well to expand her zone on the backcourt and displayed excellent ball control to handle the balls that went her way. The sophomore passed at a high level and also did a good job of stepping up to make the first contact in free balls. Keracik did well when she had to set in transition, too, confidently using her hands to get teammates in good positions to score up at the net.
