The high school volleyball season is quickly approaching in the state of Texas, and on Sunday, we from Prep Dig Texas had a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand some of the talented prospects who are set to start their high school careers over the next few weeks.

Our traditional Prep Dig Freshman Showcase made it to Houston, with dozens of the best class of 2029 players from H-Town and beyond getting together for two hours of fast-paced drills at the [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] facility.

It was a privilege to have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the prospects we'll be covering for the next four years and there was a lot of talent on display on the court.

We're taking the week to feature some of the players who stood out in our showcase, and this time we'll present the ones who showed strong games at the net:

A middle, Pruitt showed up very well at the net during the entire event. Middles were probably the most in-demand players in our showcase, as they rarely got off the court, and she was able to play her role with impressive intensity from start to finish. Pruitt is very long and knows how to make the most of it to make an impact at the net on both sides of the ball. She makes contact with the ball at a very high point on offense and is smart with the placement of her tips when she can't get a full swing. Pruitt also appeared well with her blocking, moving well at the net and always going up well-balanced to take up space from opposing hitters.

Allison and her twin sister Ashley both displayed well-developed games at the net. The right side hitter stood out in the offensive side of the game, getting off the floor well, making contact with the ball at a high point and hitting it hard every time she was set. Blaine also displayed great shot selection and impressive consistency, making very few errors, even in difficult plays. She also appeared well with her blocking, pressing opponents above the net with her long arms and winning most of the jousts she got involved in.

Hong was one of the top middles on the court and has what it takes to be one of the best in the position in the age group. She leaves nothing to be desired from a physical standpoint, but what sets her apart, for the most part, is her ability to read the game and react to it and the technical skills to execute difficult plays. On multiple occasions, Hong had to perform quick actions at the net, be it recovering a ball that was going down in her zone or getting up to block an opponent after an overpass, and every time she was able to do what was needed to keep the ball in play. She also displayed a strong offensive game, getting off the floor well and swinging with power.

Chamberlain was arguably the most athletic middle in the event, and that made of her one of the most impactful players at the net. Her offense was very impressive as she got off the floor very well and was able to put a lot of power into her swings. When Chamberlain got a good rhythm offensively, she was very difficult to stop and became one of the main scoring options on the court. She also appeared well defensively, moving well at the net and consistently getting in the way of opposing hitters with her big block.
