Last Sunday was a very fun one as Prep Dig had its Stock Up Showcase come to Houston, providing prospects from the area and beyond an additional opportunity to showcase their skills and raise their profiles ahead of the start of the high school season in Texas.

With prospects from the classes of 2026, 2027 and 2028 taking part in the event held at the [program_tooltip program_id='462263' first='TAV' last='Houston'] facility, it was also an opportunity for us, scouts, to get familiar with new faces while tracking the progress of the ones we already knew.

With the event completed, I'm now ready to share the names of the players who had the most impressive performances in each position. Today, we'll take a look into the outside hitters:

Medlock was a stud at the pin during the event, emerging as one of the most productive and efficient offensive players on the court. A power hitter, she stood out for her ability to get off the floor and hit the ball hard to beat blockers and defenders. Her vision above the net was also remarkable, as she was blocked on very few occasions and seemed to always find a way to get the ball across the net, even in out-of-system plays. Medlock also displayed a high volleyball IQ when in difficult situations, coming up with well-placed tips to put the ball down.

Pearson made a strong impression with her solid all-around game and made the players around her better with her ability to contribute in different ways. She was very solid in serve-receive, showing excellent ball control and confidence to handle the serves that went her way. Offensively, she displayed an interesting ability to get off the floor and was very smart with how she avoided opposing blockers. Pearson's athleticism allowed her to play middle at a solid level in some drills, too.

Albiston was very strong at the net and displayed interesting offensive qualities that made of her one of the best in the position. She had good variation with her swings and was excellent at assessing the situation and making the right choice every time she went up to swing. Albiston displayed solid firepower to put the ball down, but much of her high efficiency came from her ability to read blockers and hit around them. She played some middle too and did well, getting to contribute on both sides of the ball. The outside hitter also passed well and did a good job of communicating with her teammates.

When she got going, Powell was probably the most impressive offensive player on the court. Adjusting to different setters in just a couple of hours can be tricky, but when she got that sorted out, opponents had no answer for her at the net. Big and physical, Powell presented a wide variety of shots at the pin and was able to put a lot of power into them, making it impossible for opposing defenders to control the heavy balls she was sending across the net. Powell also appeared well with her blocking, getting stops in 1v1 plays at the pin.
