Intense Play and Competition at the 2025 Island Classic

<p>This year's Island Classic put on by the outstanding coaching staff of Liberty HS, came with nothing but excitement, intensity and loud noise from beginning to end. This two-day tournament was hosted at both Liberty HS & Coronado HS, so Prep Dig NV dropped in on Championship Day to see what all the noise was about. Let's take a look at several teams that had a phenomenal outing and showcased some talent you just have to hear about.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Coronado Cougars</h2>   <p>Huge CONGRATS to Coach Jaz Mau and her amazing group of ballers for winning the 2025 Island Classic Championship! They came to the tournament with intent to compete, win & did just that. Imposing their infectious dominance and celebrating the moment is what Coronado is all about. You can't help but to see the love & growth within this team. Staffed with such great players from top to bottom, Palo worked extremely hard through three triple set matches against immensely talented teams and earned their way to the championship game. Their amazing communication and fluid play on the court will definitely get them where they want to be, and during the Island Classic, they brought a ton of noise that echoed from wall to wall. #2 Mikaela Fellow is a dominant force within herself, #5 [player_tooltip player_id='706409' first='Daryl' last='Durden'] is on fire & #10 [player_tooltip player_id='544598' first='Ashlyn' last='Winans'] is simply setting a phenomenal tone for her offense in a great way. Their back row host's very strong service receptionist and their roof rising blocks prove to be a challenge for the opposition. Setters produce sneaky dump sets & showcase a variety of setting styles, and the excitement from this team will push them into a very competitive season. Flashing very efficient back row passing from #2 [player_tooltip player_id='784834' first='Kylie' last='Marie Martinez'] who possesses a very quiet & solid platform, tenacious defense and a setter, #4 Carlie Crossman that can compete with the best of them.
